Need Some HELP with UR and Banking ....

We just became owners at BWV We are now looking at our account and it shows that if we want to bank our 2012 points, we need to do so before May 1, 2012. Our Use Year is September (220 points) I did not think we get our points until September, so I would need to bank by May 1, 2013.

Our plan is to go to WDW in September 2013, and we will need to have about 325 points for what we are trying to get done.

Do we bank poitns by May 1,2012 to use in September 2013. Or Borrow points from 2013???

Your 2011 points need to be banked before the end of April 2012. Your 2012 points before the end of April 2013.

You need to have enough points in your account at the time of your stay. Your stay is when the points will be removed from your account.

When you are on the member website, if you click "vacation points" under the drop down menu at the top of the homepage, you will be taken to a summary of your points by use year. At the top of that summary, it will tell you if you have points that are eligible for banking in red print for each membership number (if you have more than one membership number).

If you have points to bank for your Sept UY, the first bullet point under the Alerts section should read:
"You may bank up to 100% of your Vacation Points for Member ID number XXXXXXXXXXXX until the end of April 2012. Select the Bank Vacation Points link below to bank Vacation Points online or contact Member Services at (XXX) XXX-XXXX or (XXX) XXX-XXXX."

If you do not have any points to bank, it should read:
"You do not have any Vacation Points for Member ID number XXXXXXXXXXXX available to bank at this time."

So, if that is the area that you are looking at and it says that you have points to bank, then you must have some 2011 points still available to use before 8/31/12. If you don't plan to use them, then you need to bank them by 4/30/12 (not 5/1/12). Then those 2011 points will be available to use from 9/1/12 - 8/31/13.

You are correct about the 2012 points. Those are available for travel from 9/1/12 - 8/31/13 and would need to be banked by 4/30/13 in order to be used for the 2013 UY (9/1/13 - 8/31/14).

You can also look lower on that page at your vacation point summary and it should show you if you have any 2011 points currently.

Hang in there! This use year thing gets easier the more you think about it. I have a December UY which is really confusing!

If you have any current points, they are 2011 UY points, not 2012 because you start your 2012 UY until Sept 1, 2012.

Like Bill said, you can bank your 2011 UY points into your 2012 UY until May 1. Then come Sept 1, 2012, you will have your current year points plus the points you banked. And if you are booking at your home resort for Sept 2013, your 2011 points will have expired on Aug 31, 2013. So you won't be able to use those. But you can use your 2012 UY points (that you banked before May 1, 2013) with your 2013 UY points to book that Sept 2013 vacation in Octobe 2012 (11 months out).
