Will be there next week for 6 days and have some questions.
Wheres the best place to rent a pontoon boat?
Also, where is the best restaurant for seafood and the sunset, and also
where is a good place to rent waverunners. Thanks!

Hi there I live about 15 minutes from the beach and I am going to try and answer some questions...

1. the pontoon boat I am not sure...
2. Good seafood: for me either The Bridge restaurant which is under the bridge and also the Beached Whale which is across the street and to the west of the Lani Kai also the restaurant on the same side of the street but just to the west or it... then there is also a restaurant in a strip mall across from the Holiday inn... it is a ways down from the strip (not sure where you are staying)
3. The waverunners: There are vendors on the beach in front of the the lani kai and other hotels that rent them...

If you have anymore questions please feel free to ask...

Check on the intercoastal (just immediately before crossing the bridge to the beach proper) for the pontoon boat rental. Since you are directly on the open gulf, that may not be an option. I've never seen them rented there, but that doesn't mean they aren't.

The Pier Restaurant can be good (and not so good, so order carefully). The Barking Shark is ocean side and has incredible fried oysters. :teeth: Other nice seafood choices are available there too. :yes:

Directly in front of the Pier Restaurant (and with the gulf in front of you) to the left of the actual pier, is a place where you can rent wave runners.

Fort Myers Beach is a wonderful place! It has something for everyone, from loud and party time, to peaceful and serene.

Enjoy yourself! ::yes::

We are going to Ft. Myers Beach/Sanibel Island In a MONTH!!! So this is a great thread giving me some great ideas for dining.

We went to Sanibel in 2008 for 1 day, we had a great beach day and found a neat place called the Bubble Room. It wasn't a typical decor by any means, which made it fun. We enjoyed the food but I am sure that it is known for its desserts more then the main meal though.

Best sunsets -- Sanibel Island/Captiva

Seafood -- The Hungry Heron on Sanibel. Look them up online -- biggest menu you have EVER seen. Very affordable, quite good food.

The Island Cow and The Lazy Flamingo on Sanibel are also excellent.
