My daughters' time off from school (3 days) was already approved. I just need to send something in writing. Is there some sort of a form letter out there? Has anyone seen anything like that? I'd appreciate any help! :teeth:

I dont have children.... yet... and I am confused about having to ask for permission when you are the parent to take them out of school. You seriously had to get permission from the school and write a letter????!! Im glad it was approved. I think family time whenever it has to be for a trip that is one to look forward to is good. I hope you have a wonderful, Magical time!!!

i am taking my four kids out of school in December and they will have unexcused absences. Here if you have more than 15 unex absences you can not pass to the next grade and parents can be seriously fined.

believe it or not!

I had to do the same thing where I am from. I had booked our December Vacation to go along with the school calendar. After school started this year they changed the christmas vacation dates. We were going to get out of school on Dec 18th. Now the kids get out on the 22nd which is the Friday before Christmas. So, we are keeping our trip the same other wise we would be spending 1500 dollars more becasue of the season. Our DD is missing 6 total days of school for our vacation. Thankfully our school board here realizes that there are more important things that they need to spend their time on, and not worring about if one of the kids is spending time on with their family. I too did have to submit a letter so it can be exscused.
