Need some help with a cat's name

My black cat when I was a kid was Spooky. There is a black and white cat in my neighborhood named Boo. Personally, I kinda liked the suggestions of Skidmark and Hoo-Hoo posted by others in this thread! If you want a Disney name, try Figaro - the kitty from Pinocchio. If you still want a name that reminds you of South Carolina, how about Charlston, Columbia, Granite (the state stone), or Sassafras. Good luck on choosing a name!

Okay, a FORMER South Carolinian chiming in . . .
Something to make you think of home? I think BEAUREGARD is a good name (shorten to Beau for an easy name). I always wanted to name a cat Sherman, but my Mom wouldn't let me.

Otherwise - my favorite "name" that we had was THIRTEEN who happened to be a black cat. (My dad's a vet, we always had several litters dumped at our door each summer, one year, so that she wouldn't get attached, my mom gave them all numbers instead of names, but Thirteen was never adopted, so he ended up as a family pet.)

Or, to combine the two ideas, you could name the cat NINETY-SIX, which is a town in South Carolina.

I like Salem, Shadow or Madrid. Those are the names that we gave to three of the black feral cats in our neighborhood.

This is ONE of my black cats, or at least a PART of her! She's a scaredy cat!

Her name is Aaliyah, we named her after the late singer right after her death. She has long black hair and isvery feminine and sweet, just like her namesake!

Our other black cat is Maximillian Miracles, we call him Max. He survived so much he deserved that name!

There's also the racoon from Pocohantas (Mushu?), but he's more grey than black.

That's Meeko! I named my ragdoll that because of the mask on his face!

WOW! So many great names!! We wrote down all the ones that we liked and drew out one name. And of course, out of all of these really cool names, we drew out...Gromit. Yep, Gromit. It couldn't be one of the really cool ones...just Gromit. My son is ecstatic because that is the name that he put in. Thank you all so much for your input! My favorite names were Kudzu and Smudge. Maybe I will get to name the next one!!

Cats have middle names you know! My littlest is Angel Diana (we got her the weekend Princess Diana passed away).
