Hi guys, I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what to expect while visiting wdw in Jan. We are booked Jan.13-17 a quick mini trip, only 4 nights and I have never been during this time frame I was just wondering if it was really uncrowded or if it is chilly.
Thanks.
Kim

Well considering it is MLK weekend, expect it to be busy. Not summer busy, but busier than the rest of the month.

Weather is always unpredictable during Jan and Feb. You can have temperatures during the day in the 70's even low 80's and then 2 days later have temps in the 40's. Try and keep an eye on the Weather Channel and get the 7-day forecasts right before you leave. The evenings are always cool.

This is the one time of year I have to pack more. Agreed, the weather is completely unpredictable. One year is was cold and rainy (really cold), then last year it was in the 80s all week (the end of january). I try to make sure I stay at a resort with a hot tub during Jan/Feb trips. Take warm clothes, especially for nights, but sometimes for the day. Crowds will be the heaviest during the weekend of the 15th because it is a holiday weekend. We'll be there Jan. 15-22, WL.

We are planning on going at that time also. My DH nearly had a stroke when I told them DISers suggested we bring gloves. Here we're hoping we can get at least one day for swimming! And after four trips in the past couple of years, we haven't gone on Splash Mountain and was intending on doing so this time. Not with temps under 60 I won't!

Let's keep our fingers crossed for a warm trip - at least for one or two days of it! :sunny: :sunny:

I agree with Jordanyosh. I have been to WDW four times during that time of year and you never know what to expect with the weather. Although, over a total of 30+ total days or so of being there that time of year, I have to say that I don't ever remember seeing a raindrop. And more often than not, the weather was in the 70's during the day (some 80's) and warm enough to swim. The nights were cool as were the mornings when we first started our day. Lines were almost non-existent (except for weekends), PS's were very easy to come by for pretty much anytime (I don't think we even made PS's for various dinners), but park hours were shorter. Enjoy yourself! It's not a bad time of year to go and helps offset the January doldrums.

I didn't even think about it being on a holiday weekend....Do you think that it will really affect the attendance?? We went in Oct, when it was supposed to be a lot less crowded time and found it to be unbearably crowded, I thought we might give January a try, Anyone out there that was also there this past Oct, that might be able to give me a comparison of the two. I didn't even think of it being a holiday....I am worried now.
