We're taking my 84 yr old father-in-law to WDW with us the beginning of Nov. The problem is he has had health problems this year and is carefully using a walker. His doctor won't let him go unless he uses an electric scooter. The problem comes in at this point. He will definatly need to go back to the room and rest each afternoon. Can we leave his scooter somewhere in the park for a couple of hours while he rests or will a cm return it to the check in? I am worried that if he returns it, one may not be available when he returns and I know he cannot stand waiting for a parade for and hour or sit on a curb as he is fairly frail. Anyone with an idea? He really wants to see TON and Spectromagic. Thanks for any suggestions.

Depending on how long you will be there, you might want to look into renting one from an outside vendor. I have checked into these also and plan on going that way. They deliver the scooter to your hotel and you use it everywhere. (take on the buses, etc.) There are other threads here with all the numbers. Good luck in whatever you decide to do. Have a wonderful trip :bounce:

If you rent these, where do you keep them at night when you return to hotel?

Glad to see you found your way here. We have nver rented an ecv, but I have read that some people just keep it in the room and others ask where at the resort they can leave it. It needs to be plugged in at night to charge the battery. I'm sure some of our regular posters will come along and give you some real info (instead of my rambling).

My reservations were made through CRO (Special Needs). I have requested a first floor room or one with an elevator. I have been assured that would NOT be a problem. You just drive the scooter into your room and plug it in to recharge. If you made your reservations through a Travel Agent, I'm sure they will be able to put in the same request for you. Good luck!
