Need some help from the creative minds here

I am throwing a Mad Hatter Tea Party for a friend's bridal shower. We have a lot of it worked out, but need help with the wording of asking people to wear hats....we want those attending to wear a hat...crazy/silly/pretty and so on and the bride-to be will be picking the winner....Any ideas on how to word this?

What about something along the lines of:

Don't flip your lid, but in keeping with the theme, your hosts would be thrilled if guests might consider wearing headgear of the non-orthodontal (I know that's not spelled right!) variety. The more unique, the better!

That's where I was going with it -
start with the phrase everyone knows -
then flip it.

The bride will be selecting the best (most creative, most outrageous, whatever wording you want to use here) hat at the shower, so don't hold back!
