Need some help. Does anyone know one of the Dapper Dans?

Ok... soooooo.... I have an idea of proposing to my girlfriend at MK but asking the Dapper Dans to let me sing a song with them. I've been having a difficult time getting in touch with anyone who knows how to set something like that up ahead of time. I'd rather not wait till the day we go to the park (too much to chance). I'm wondering if anyone knows a Dapper Dan at Disney World I could talk to about this or someone who would help me schedule this. I've talked with Guest Services and so far haven't gotten anywhere. I have some time to figure this out, but like I said either need to figure it out or move on to Plan B. Thanks for the help.

Guests aren't allowed to sing with the Dapper Dans just as they also aren't allowed to jump in and sing with the Voices of Liberty.

Characters are directed to not take part in wedding proposals. When a proposal happens at a character meet and greet, the character moves out of the way and definitely out of the picture. They'll step back in to congratulate the couple but that's about it.

Plan B is your best option.

Thanks for the reply. The song would be prior to the actual proposal, not really part of it. I've seen it on youtube and liked the idea. So, figured it could be done.

At WDW, what you are requesting is a specific Character Event. You can run your request by the Disney Character Event team but it is very pricey to arrange for characters to be present for an event. At least $800 for one character - the Dans would be much more.

I'll check with a couple of my Dans friends when I'm there next month. From the other replies, they are likely pretty restricted in what they might be able to do. Besides singing, they tell a lot of jokes, maybe they could work you into one of the jokes somehow.

I'm not sure that's true.
In fact, I have been asked to sing by the Dans a couple of times.
(I declined.)
But, there are lots of members of barbershop quartet organizations who visit with,
and who I've seen sing with, the Dans.

Disney has recently put into place stricter regulations regarding guest interaction & character integrity. Thanks to social media, Disney doesn't want non-sanctioned interaction posted everywhere for guests to think it's a normal occurrence. And pre-scheduling character interaction falls under Disney Character Events.

I did and they were not able to help with this scenario. Disney Weddings had some set things you could do, but none really match the personality of my girlfriend. They were all mostly prince and princess type things. Thanks for the suggestion however.

Just wanted to update everyone who may have read or is reading this. I finally got an answer from customer service and you can arrange to sing with the Dapper Dan for a proposal. They will only do the song "Let me call you sweetheart" and they need about a month advanced notice. Wanted to let you know.

I know... just was trying to figure it out how to get it done.

I'm actually ending up with something a little different. I am going to have a caricature artist draw us and have them put in the drawing "Will You Marry Me". Something I've also seen on Youtube. Giving it some thought, I think she would appreciate it being more intimate and also having the drawing as a reminder of the moment. Guest Service is helping me plan it. I do have an add on to my idea that I'm keeping to myself which will make the moment unique... I'll let you all know in November after its done. Thanks for all the replies.

I would try reaching out again.. There is another group there that handle special little things like this.

I planned something VERY special years back for my DH and I 5th anniversary.. They were able to get the piano play at the GF to play our song.. To which I asked DH to dance right in the middle of the lobby.

One of the best moments of our lives as we never officially had a wedding dance.

After years of DH telling me that is fav. Moment of any disney trip ever.. I was able to surprise him again.!
I contacted the people above and I was to get the musicians at the Biergarten restaurant to play our song again..
DH was almost brought to Tears.. He never dreamed we would get have TWO great moments like that.
