Need some help /advice

Hello everyone-

I was wondering if someone can help me. My DH, DS 3.5 and myself were supposed to go camping at Disney Fort wilderness but had to change our reservations to the All Star movies in Sept due to the fact that I am full time care taker for my grandfather. I never told my son that we were going to Disney in the first place,just that we were going camping, he was so excited and now I don't want to tell him that we aren't going camping. I figured that wants he sees the movies he will be very happy! I have been looking on the boards all day and have seen a lot of great stuff but don't even know where to begin, I would like to do something special for my son since this year has just been really tough on all of us. I was going to do the Grand welcome package but its really expensive so I was wondering if any of you had some great ideas or tips for me? We are driving from PA but I really dont want to tell him until we get there. Thanks a lot

Make your own Mickey's Grand Welcome Gift! There have been several DISer's on the board that have and they have turned out GREAT! Here is a link to a thread that has pictures and lots of ideas:

I also have a TON of printables from gift tags to welcome banners and so much more! Look in my 4shared file in the link in my signature then look in the "mickey's grand welcome" file. Make sure you look in the subfiles.

I also have a fun hotel scavenger hunt for the "all-star" resort. Look in the "travel games" file and the "hotel scavenger hunt" subfile.

Thanks a lot I love the scavenger hunts that's an awesome idea, goodness i wish i could be this creative, I also just looked some more how do I even go about making t-shirts?. I don't want to go to overboard because he is only three, I saw some passport books and everything but don't know if he could get into that? Thanks for the ideas anymore would be great?!

Look in the "Meet the DISigners" thread at the top of the forum, and take some time to look in their shared files to find designs that you might like. If you find blanks, you can use MS Word to personalize them. Here is a thread that teaches how:

I have blanks in my 4shared file as well as Donatalie (Natalie).

If you need help personalizing...look through Rustmanfan (Marion's) DISigns. She has lots of great ones and will personalize them for you.

I would suggest making an autograph book. My little one loved meeting the characters when I took him. Each child is different...but most love to hug the characters, and having an autograph book makes it extra special!
