I'm very new to scrapping, card making, etc.. I want to purchase my first cricut but I need help deciding on which one. I love the fact that with the Expression we have SCAL as an option to save $$ by not having to buy so many cartridges. I know that the Imagine is not SCAL capable but I really like what I see with the Imagine (expect for the pricetag!). I'm having such a hard time deciding on what to choose.

As experienced crafters, which one would you recommend to a new user?

Thanks!

With this being Black Friday time, I think I would go with an Expression. If you can get one under $200. The smaller bugs (personal and create), are nice from a cost perspective, but if you really start using your Cricut, you will want the larger size probably sooner than later. If that is too much of an investment, I would go for the create over the personal, because at least then you can rotate the image to make them larger.

The imagine does nothing for me, because I can't imagine how much the price of ink will add up.

I definately do not want an imagine.

I love what I can do with SCAL and do not want to be limited by the carts and the imagine.
