Need some Beach recommendations

We are going on June 13-20 to WDW and we want to go to a nice beach one day. Hoping to get some recommendations. It will be myself, DH, DD8, DBIL, DSIL, DN13, DN7. We are staying At Marriott Grande Vista.

I think they are all good beaches. We went to Daytona because it isnt to far away and you can drive your car on the beach right up to the water. This way all your beach supplies are right there with you. No dragging coolers, towels ect... Unless they changed that. We rented boogie boards and the kids loved them!

The only let down was there are no shells! All the shells are in southern FL and to far to drive for 1 day.


Dont forget the sunscreen even if its overcast!

We make our beach day trip to Madeira Beach which is just south of St Petersburg. The beaches are beautiful. You can rent boogie boards, jet skis or even go parasailing. The have a great area for shopping called Board Walk. There are also a lot of good restaurants (Sculley's).

I think I am sticking with the Gulf beaches. So I will check out Madiera. I have been on Google all morning. Anyone else with suggestions on the Gulf side?

This is the exact reason why I Don't go to Daytona..too dirty. The sand is full of awful tire tracks and it is pretty "partied" out

back when I was a CP my favorite beach is clearwater on the GUlf side. Beautiful white sand and very clean.

If you want to go to the Atlantic I always liked Cocoa beach. Bigger waves than on the GUlf side so the surfing is better. We used to camp over night there, but I don't think that was actually allowed since I can remember being asked to leave by the PD on a few occasions

Cocoa is closer by about an hour and you can also visit Kennedy space center (which is pricey) and Ron Johns Surf Shop, but my preference is still on the Gulf cause its naturally warmer.

We love cocoa beach although we have spent more time in Daytona for cheer competitions.
