I'm looking for a medium size backpack to carry to the parks, as well as a carry on on the plane trip down. We will be traveling with an 18 mth old and need something with several pockets to carry all her "stuff". Anybody have any particular brand or model they prefer let me know.

Thanks,

Charlie:jester:

You should check out the healthy back bag from ameribag. I think they make a "baby bag" version.

Check out ameribag.com, ebags.com, llbean.com - they all sell them

but if you are looking for a bargain price, Wal-Mart carries a variety of backpacks as does sport stores (like Academy, Oshman's).

Check out Mousesavers.com. They've usually got a link with some discounts at ebags.com.

We have a nice one from LL Bean that I toted around last December and found very comfortable to carry.

Has anyone ever had problems having a backpack on in large crowds and things being taken out of them without your knowledge? Last year when we went on our cruise the woman at BWI airport (the busiest airport on the face of the earth :) )suggested to me that I turn my backpack to my front (great fashion statement!) while walking through the airport because it is very easy for people to unzip one of the pockets while you are standing in lines and remove items without you even realizing .

Try www.ebags.com. They have all sorts of bags. I got myself a fannypack and my DGD a backpack from them for our trip in Dec. The backpack is only 14" long, just the right size for her to have to carry around all day. Good luck.:wave2:

I have the Parent's Survivial pack from Eagle Creek. It looks like a backpack, but is designed to carry baby stuff and comes with a changing pad that cushions your back too. I got it on clearance at REI for about $39 . It is more online.

I've been considering a backpack too! One that I am really interested in is the Baby Sherpa Backpack. You can look at it at www.babysherpa.com . It is kind of expensive (around $90--although I have seen it on ebay for $60), so I'm trying to decide if it's worth it. It's got lots of neat features--like an insulated cooler compartment that holds up to 6 cans. We have a new little one on the way so it may be worth it for us!:D
