I want to start the Atkins plan on Monday, but I have read that you can get very fatigued the first few days. My problem is that I am to start my "cycle" in the next couple of days and I will get fatigued from that. Should I hold off another week, and start Saturday or Sunday when things are slowing down, or should I go ahead and stay with Monday as my plan?

Good For you for starting atkins...you have made SUCH a huge choice in getting healthy!!

I say go for it...you are gonna feel all yucky anyway right...so what the difference...you may not even be able to tell the difference. I started Atkins Induction when I had a Sinus infection...Which was Awful...so I never knew if Atkins was "hard" because I was sooo preoccuiped with my cold.

If you wait until next week...then you will have 2 weeks of feeling icky in a row. JMHO...of course you need to do whatever you feel you can handle.

One more thought thou...if you feel like you might use the TOM thing as an "excuse" to fail...then I would wait.

Good Luck whatever you decide..and please post and let us know how it is going!!

I agree with Luvinit. Since you were prepared to start on Monday, just stick with that plan. I personally didn't feel tired. The 1st few days take some getting used to but I didn't think it was really any big deal. Once you are on it, you will see how easy it is to follow. Good luck!

I say start now! Seeing the first five pounds come off makes you feel better, not worse! We need reasons to stick to our nutritional plan, not reasons to slide off! :)

This is my first post to this board, and it looks like it will be a big help to me. I have lost 55 pounds on Atkins in six months. I have hit plateaus along the way, but I look so "marvelous" that I work through those plateaus. Actually, I have done so well that I can't decide what my final goal will be!

I would stick with you initial plan. Not everyone feels bad in the beginning ( I didn't) and if you do, why feel bad 2 weeks in a row.

Good Luck!!!!!!

I would start Atkins when you had decided to.
