Need some advice about Hotel Royal Plaza

Hey there everyone, I am trying to work out a surprise to WDW and just received the e-mail from mousesavers about discounted rooms from this hotel. My questions are:
1) Has anyone stayed at this hotel
2) What's the transportation like
3) If I book during Sept, can I get free dining by staying at this hotel?

You can not get free dining at any of the DTD hotels, including Royal Plaza.

The hotel was completely gutted and renovated after the 2004 hurricane season. It's located about halfway down Hotel Plaza Blvd from DTD, so it is possible to walk between the two.

The DTD hotels have their own transportation to the parks. It's a little less convenient than the Disney buses, but better than most offsite hotels. Plus, if you walk to DTD, you have access to Disney transportation to the various resorts (great for ADR's).

I just wanted to add that you also do not get the EMH that the parks offer either. It may not be something you are interested in, but I thought I would point it out just in case

I may be wrong, but as of today I don't think you can get free dining anyplace on property. I think it had to be booked as of yesterday.

I stayed there just after the remodeling (done after a hurricane hit the place) and it was nice. Ask for an upper floor room, it's quieter.
