In a few weeks I will be in WDW with another family. We're staying at different resorts and have several meals schedule together, but not all and we won't be touring the parks together all day.

My friend is the one that purchased the Memory Maker and we have read so many different things about how this will work. We both have our accounts shared with one another with the Memory Maker box checked.

We're reading so many different things about there being issues getting your photos linked, especially if you're not together for a ride photo or for a dinner photo.

Can anyone share any shared group Memory Maker experiences?

I usually read MM posts when I see them and haven't seen many reports of people not getting photos when their group splits up - I traveled with my extended family of 12, 4 different room reservations in 2 different resorts, not always together when we rode or got photos taken. All our pictures showed up, we got them whether we were together or not, it is really awesome for a group like that!

One Magic shot taken in Epcot didn't show up in our account, so a phone call to Photopass services with a day and time and description of my niece resulted in the picture showing up.

On my first day, I thought pictures should have already been in my account (I knew there could be a small delay, but I thought by Tues morning, my Mon evening pictures would be there and I didn't see them) I used the online "report missing photos" form. Their reply within a couple hours was "it appears the photos you are describing are in your account already". I had just jumped the gun and my photos arrived later.

Even though your MB will capture ride photos with no further action from you, some people feel more secure if they also have their MB scanned by a CM at the photo viewing area at the end of the rides.

Don't know if this has changed, but when I went the person who had purchased the MM could see ALL photos including ride photos, of all family members. Non-purchasers could see all the shots taken at photographers, but not any ride photos. ALL. of us had our pictures captured, but only the MM purchaser's login showed all the ride photos. We also had better luck viewing photos in a browser rather than with the MDE app.

At the end of the trip, even though everyone can see photos in their own MDE, only the person who bought MM can do the download under their login. My sis-in-law wasted some time editing photos under her own login, only to find that she was prompted to pay for the download and when I used my login (I paid for the MM) I couldn't see her edited photos, so we had to re-do them and download from my login.

Have fun!! Stop at lots of photographers and enjoy!

We did a share in September, I think it was 6 families and none of us knew each other. We all linked to a dummy accont that had purchased memory maker. As long as you are linked as friends it should work (there may be another check for allowing friends to see your photos, I dont remember exactly) The dummy account could see everyones photos and we had to log in there to edit and download everything. We were never together with the other families and all our photos showed up and I assume all of theirs did as well. Ride videos too.

We travel with a group of 15-20 people. we were 19 on our last trip in 2014. DVC members spread out in 5 different rooms. We got Memory Maker to share.

The trick is to make sure EVERYONE is EVERYONE'S friend in MDE. And inside everyone's setting, allow to see/purchase pictures. That way, the ONE person who has memory maker on their account will be able to access everyone's pictures and include all of them on the memory maker package. We did this, it worked like a charm. Got hundreds of photos for the price.

Back from a wonderful trip and Memory Maker was AWESOME. The only tip I have for people is if you are sharing a MM with other families, don't let your kids "scan" with the PhotoPass photographers. Or if they do, you should scan too. My friend was the MM holder and while she had no issues seeing mine or my DH's photos (because we were linked in MDE) any my kids scanned did not. We could not figure out how to allow our kids to be shared and she ended up on the phone for an hour with MM staff to fix it.

Otherwise it was awesome and the photos are fantastic. My only regret is not using it even more! It took us a day or two to get our bearings with it and then we went crazy.
