We've been tossing around some dining options for our next trip, and are thinking about adding Coral Reef to our list. This trip will be just my DH and myself and we both love seafood. I've heard mixed reviews in the past so I'm curious to hear what those who have dined there more recently have to say. I think the atmosphere will be rather unique. I'd love to hear any and all opinions. Thanks!

We went once for lunch and feel it was definitely worth trying.

The view is gorgeous and we had very attentive service. Our food was perfectly fine, but we make great seafood at home a lot and DH expected to be "wowed." But again, it was definitely worth doing.

I ate lunch there with my mom last Dec and neither of us were impressed with either the food or the service. The waiter was rather uppity and seemed very put out that we wouldn't order alcoholic drinks. Then we couldn't get refills on her iced tea or my water, despite flagging him down and asking several times. The lobster bisque was pretty good, but to tell you the truth I don't remember anything else we ate. Oh yeah, I had a chocolate dessert filled with hot white chocolate that was good. I just asked my mom and she said the only thing she remembers about the coral reef was the rude waiter who insisted we order alcohol and the really bad service.

We ate there twice in April. While we found the food good, we found the menu to be too limited in choices for us. We thought the service was good on one visit and poor on the next visit. Of course, the view is wonderful. We decided to past on this restraurant until the next menu change for future visits.

We ate there in April and we have ADR for Sept. when we go back. We reallly enjoyed it. We thought the food was good. The chocolate wave dessert was great, a must get if you dine there.

Our family loved it!! You can check out the menu on www.allearsnet.com. I had the blackend catfish with cheese grits and it was WONDERFUL. Best meal of our whole trip.

ENJOY

Thanks for that link Super Goof - I can't wait to go there on the free dining in Sept.!! We've never been because we couldn't bring ourselves to spend the money!! I love it when people put the $$ in their review - it makes me realize what a great deal the dining plan is - even if you paid for it! I keep thinking of some nut on the resort board that says she eats a TS meal every day and a CS and doesn't believe she'll save money on the DDP!! Then you see a price tag like that - and know that you will!

We just got home last night and ate at Coral Reef for the first time. My dining report is coming soon, but in one word: AWESOME!
