Need resort help!!

I'm sure you get a million of these threads and I'm sorry....just don't know what to do!

We've got ressies at AKL CL in December (10-14). Friends of ours are now talking about coming (which is totally fine with us!!). I talked to AKL and we would need to get a 2 room suite (which is the only thing available for AKL when I look on line). One night for the two room suite CL is almost what we're paying for the entire trip! We can't afford that and certainly wouldn't expect them to pay that much for a room just to come to Disney with us. I'd really like to stay at AKL CL as they've been so helpful wtih ADRs and questions and such. What are my options for our friends? They are two adults with no children. Should I try and call to see about getting them just a "regular" room at AKL even though there aren't any on line? Is there a better resort for them (I'm open to anything)? Would they still be able to come hang out in our room if we're at CL and they're not (we'd like to be able to see them and relax a bit together!)?

TIA for any help you can provide! We're going to get together with them on Friday night and I'd like to have some options for them once I'm for sure they're coming and how long they're staying.

I think it would be fine to arrange for a regular room for your friends. After all, you already checked and there are no other rooms available on AKL CL.

I have not stayed on CL level so, hopefully someone else will share their experience with you.

If you can get a regular room for your friends. You can always ask the CM at club level if your friends can come up a few times to visit with you. But do ask. I know when I was at the BWI club level planning my next trip this coming Dec with my DS & DIL, the CM on the club level said to get them a regular room & they can come in with us to the lounge but to ask them first. They do allow it if you ask them. Maybe it was just the BWI but it can't hurt to ask, all the CM can tell you no. I know most would say this is cheating but I only going by what I was told at the club level at the BWI. I know WL club have let some family members join their parents on club level. Doesn't hurt to ask. Good luck. You might want to meet at the lounge downstairs for a drink??

A little outside of what you were asking, but I think I would let your friends make their own arrangements. I'd offer counsel if they ask, but let them make their own reservations.

If they are concerned about costs, why not mention the value resorts. Sometimes, it is nice to have a little space and now be connected at the hip. These days with cell phones, it is very easy to "meet up" at a park or for drinks.

Personally, I think I'd prefer to have a little space while on vacation. They might as well!

Can't they just book their own room at the AKL? I think staying at the same resort will be convenient enough.

I'd inform them that there are not any rooms at AKL club level or standard rooms. Give them the phone # to call CRO and let them plan their own vacation. You are only going to be there 4 days during one of the best times of the year. They may not want to see all that you do or eat where you do. You can always meet up sometime during the day.
