Need recommendations for portable DVD player!

If the sound is difficult to hear on a plane, as someone mentioned, I'd suggest using the subtitles feature in the movie, so that you could read along.
We've found a better solution. We bought something called a Boostaroo which is an audio boosting device. You plug it into the headphone jack on your player, then plug headphones into the Boostaroo (ours has 3 or 4 jacks for headphones so you can still share) and it increases the volume so you can hear on noisy planes. It runs on AA batteries so just keep a couple spare batteries in your travel bag and you're set.

re: Atlanta Traffic

We live about 4 hours north of it and drive thru Atlanta at least 3 times every year, and have for the last 10 or so...
my best advice is to start out early, and hit Atlanta before six AM or after 10 am but before 2 pm, or wait until night, after 8 at the least. Weekends you should have no problem at any time. I do not recommend the I-285 Bypass simply because its the same amount of traffic: actually more business and professional centers are on the perimeter than downtown anymore, but about twice as long. We just grin and gun it through the middle of town.

Hope it helps. :earsboy:

I was just lookuing at these today. I found some nice ones on Amazon.com. They were 7 inch and ranged from 135-200. Good reviews listed on some of them too. Good luck. Let us know what you decide. I am looking to get one for our drive down too.

ptrbryant, that depends. If we leave after work (around 5:00) we will probably stop outside Atlanta. If we leave the next day early, we are going to try to drive straight through. I know that is a loooong day. I figure that with two young kids, it would probably take us 13.5 - 14 hours. We have stopped in Valdosta GA. before. That made for a good trip with a shorter drive on the next day making sure to stop at the Disney Information Center on the way down.

Have you thought about renting one? That is what we are going to do. The rental place by us rents them for 19.99 a week. Just an option if you didnt want to spend the money to buy one before your trip
