Do to our change of vacation plans I ended up having to shorten our stay at RPH for one night and since they had to cancel the whole reservation I lost my AAA rate for the nights we wanted to stay so I ended up having to book the HRH at a cheaper rate then the RPH would of been after the change. Please reassure me that this will not be a big mistake. We are going from 3/13-3/17 and I told the reservation lady that I wanted a room away from the elevators and a quiet room, I did not want to hear any partying college age kids. No offense but my kids are adults now so the partying stage with our children has come to an end. I am worried now that we will absolutely hate the HRH, but money wise it just made more sense to book this hotel then pay the higher rate at RPH. So please if anyone has anything good to say about HRH I want to hear it. Thanks

We stayed there at the end of October and all was quiet. We had the dogs and one of them barks when he hears anything and he was quiet all night. That said, you can get a rowdy "neighbor" wherever you go. Just call security if it gets too loud.

This is what the lady that booked our reservations said, just call the front desk if you have any problem. Since we will be going in March I was afraid we would run into a lot of college kids who are on spring break. And honestly barking dogs don't bother me nearly as much as drunk and obnoxious people. I also read where some one had trouble with thier reservation when they checked in, is this a constant thing or an isolated incident? I so want to enjoy Universal since this will be our first trip for both myself and husband and if all goes well it won't be the last.

I don't know what your price ended up being, but it may be beneficial for one of you to get an Annual Pass, because then you can book any of the hotels at the AP rate. Most often the AP rates for the hotels follow like so:

RPR $129-$159 per night
HRH $149-169
Portofino $159-$189

These are rates that I have gotten many times over.. and the cost for an AP at Universal is not so much more than a regular part ticket. Also, the discounts you recieve for food and merchandise in the parks will also make up for the difference. Check it out. It may work out to your benefit!

Good luck!

Kathy

I am a picky traveler and we loved HRH. Actually it was our favorite hotel and my parents (who are older party poopers..love HRH).

If you can swing it.. try to rent a cabana for the day. IMO.. the stevie wonder cabana is the ideal location.
