Need rack rate increase info

I'm putting together a pretty comprehensive spreadsheet detailing the costs associated with owning DVC as opposed to taking a rack rate trip each year over the next 48 years. I have some great info from JimC in PA regarding maintenance fee increases since DVC inception, and I now need rack rate increase information to complete the spreadsheet. Can anyone here share with me any pricing information they have on rack rates over the last few years at any/all Disney moderate or luxury hotels?

I'll definitely post or offer to email the spreadsheet once it's complete.

when i signed up with DVC, i was quoted an annual increase if about 6-7% per year for room rack rates. but it varies from year to year. for the spreadsheet, perhaps be conservative and put in 8% increase on a yearly basis.

Thanks for the input from your original purchase. What I'm looking for though, are actual numbers. From the spreadsheet I got from JimC that detailed the average increase of maintenance fees from every DVC Resort since it's inception, I was able to find out that the overall average of maintenance fee increases from year to year is almost exactly 3%.

I'd like to have some historical data on rack rate increases as well, this way I have "hard" numbers rather than what we're quoted by DVC staff etc.

Awww crap... I'm not a finance guy, how do I do that!?

I figured inflation would affect both DVC maintenance fees and rack rates the same way which is where my biggest concern comes from. Am I incorrect in thinking so? How much of a difference would inflation make considering the biggest lump some cost is at the front end?

yeah, i'm not a finance guy either.

i think your logic is correct. as fees and rack rates go up, it will reflect the cost of inflation. so it's already in there. the only thing i would consider is the buying power of the dollar. when determining if DVC is worth it or not for the next 50 years, the comparison needs to be apples-to-apples. cuz the buying power of the dollar now will be different than 50 years from now. like how my grandparents keep reminding me, "i remember when milk use to be 50 cents..."

and i'm not sure how to factor that in. inflation is averaging 3-4% on a yearly basis. so perhaps normalize your long-term (50 years later) numbers against that?!?!
