We are going Thanksgiving week of this year.

We will be traveling with me, DH, grandmother (82 years old) and our 3 DD's ages at the time of travel, 5, 21 months and 11 months.

We have a budget for a moderate resort. Which would you chose and why? Our 82 year old grandmother is going "just to go" and to help with babysitting, naps, etc.

We will have a dining plan, either quick service, or the one up from quick service, haven't decided yet.

HELP!!!! We can't decide, there are pluses and minuses for all of them.....

Thanks in advance.

PS: Can you tell this is our first WDW vacation staying with the kids?

Have you looked into a family suite at the All Star resorts? I believe you would be over the room occupancy of a moderate anyway, and you'll have more room.

When I call Disney they say because of the two infants ages, we can stay where ever we would like. The family suite? I need to look at that, thank you!

I could be wrong, but I thought you were allowed only 1 child under 3 not to be counted in the occupancy. :confused3 I don't think I'd want 3 adults and 3 children in one hotel room, though.

I would avoid Caribbean Beach....none of the buildings have elevators and they can't guarantee you the first floor (unless your grandmother is in a wheelchair....then they might).

Didn't know about the non elevator thing. Very good tp know. It is not ideal to have us all in one room, but, that is what the budget allows for, and I also wouldn't feel comfortable with a different room situation.

We had an excellent experience at POFQ - small so easy to navigate. Plus, it's the first stop getting on/off the bus it shares with POR (actually, we had a few times that the bus picking us up at POFQ was full enough that we didn't bother with POR and just went straight to the parks). Also, the boat launch to DTD is quite nice too! DH and I both agree that we plan to go back to POFQ again someday.

Even though I love CSR my initial thought was POFQ. It's smaller. CSR and CBR are very spread out. If you aren't driving, may be worth going compace.

If you are wanting to do just one room, your only moderate option will be Port Orleans Riverside. The Alligator Bayou section has rooms that will accomodate 5 people plus 1 child under 3. Since you have 2 children under 3, one of them must count towards the occupancy of the room.

I've stayed at CBR, POFQ, and POR. I have to say my favorite was POFQ because it was so small. There's only one bus stop and none of the buildings are terribly far from the bus stop, food court, or pool. The buildings have elevators as well. If you could swing two rooms, I'd say go there. POR comes in a close second so if you can't do two rooms at POFQ, go there. It's a lovely resort with a very peaceful feel to it.
