My DD age 7 has a one hour private lesson at her gymnastics facility tomorrow. Her coach from the last session will be coaching her, the coach is a college student. Should we tip her? DH just mentioned that and I hadn't even thought of it and I don't think anyone will be in the office tomorrow to ask.

Both my daughters have been in competitive gymnastics for a long time. My 10 year old is a level 7 and my 12 year old is a level 6. We have done private lessons almost weekly for years. At our gym you never tip the coach for privates. They charge $36 per hour, no tip on top of that, just $36/hour. Hope that helps!

my son is a tumbler in allstar cheer and we also do privates quite often for several years, we pay 40 an hour or 25 for 30 min. the money at our gym goes directly to the coach. none to the gym. so we have never tipped, always thought that was great $$ for the time! if only i could get paid for coaching from the parent area then i would be rich!! :cool1:

Assuming you're paying an agreed-upon fee for the lesson, tipping is not expected above that.
