I have never bid on a room using priceline. I may do this today, but here is my question:

How is a 4-star deluxe different than a resort? Which do you think would be nicer? I am going to bid for a place at Marco Island. Anyone ever bid for Marco and what did you get?

Hope this will help.......

If you bid for a 4 Star, you are gauranteed a hotel with top of the line ammenities, services, and 4 star quality rooms.

If you bid on Resort, you are simply gauranteed the hotel ("resort") you get will have certain resort ammenities. These can include resort style pools, golf courses (onsite/nearby), tennis, spa, etc. This does not gaurantee you will get a 4* hotel however! Resort hotels can generally be equivalent to 3* or 4* quality.

In other words, getting a resort is not necessarily a step up in quality, just a step-up in services offered. WHile I'm a huge Priceline advocate, the Resort bidding (for me at least) leaves a lot to be desired. Essentially, I suppose, you could end up in a Holiday Inn if it has a golf course!
