We were supposed to be at OKW or nine nights right now but had to cancel last minute because dh has upcoming knee surgery and surgeon said not to go. We rebooked for March and now that trip may not happen. During preop exam dh's ecg came back abnormal and his surgery may be postponed while they sort out the ecg issue. His cardiologist is not worried, but surgeon is put off. This trip has been postponed twice already. We are dying to get away and put all this health stuff behind us. Just needed to vent. I am sad and worried.

I'm so sorry your plans keep getting put off... I hope in no time you will be hearing good news, an all-clear for surgery, and please fasten your seatbelts, we have begun our descent into Orlando! pixiedust: I'll keep you in my prayers for good health and happy vacationing!

I totally sympathize with you. Just think, having something to look forward to will help your husband (and you) get through all the medical mumbo-jumbo you are facing! I know, I am trying to get away for a weekend after a tough year of cancer treatments - and had it all planned until the Snowpocalypse happened here in Atlanta! Now the schools are thinking my kid should be there instead of at Disney in February:(

You can rebook again, and I think WDW would be absolutely lovely in April!

Good luck with everything,

Cathy

I think you need as must pixiedust as you can get. I hope it all turns out well and you and your DH will be at WDW as planned.

Don't assume the test results are all bad - the same thing happened before my Dh's last back surgery. They were ready to wheel him in, when a test on his heart came back abnormal. They packed him up and sent us home to have more in depth tests on his heart. They all came back fine, and he was able to have his back surgery a few weeks later. Hoping your Dh has the same outcome!

I understand your feelings. For the last 3 or 4 years we have had to cancel trips many times for health reasons. It is always a huge disappointment.
Regarding the ECG: When mine came back abnormal preceding foot surgery I was really nervous. An echocardiogram showed no problems. The guy who did the echo said that it is extremely common for ECGs to come back abnormal and further testing to be fine. Here's hoping that is true for your DH too! :thumbsup2
P.S. DH had knee replacement and it will be good for you and your DH to have WDW to anticipate as he goes through the therapy post-surgery.

Yes, ECGs often catch minor things that really are not an issue, but do trigger a closer look. DH had that happen with his hernia surgery too. Here's hoping all turns out well!:wizard:

Ditto--same thing happened with my Mom. They did all sorts of heart tests after the abnormal EKG and everything was fine.

I am so sorry. :sad1: I hope that your DH gets a clean bill of health from the cardiologist and that he recovers quickly from the knee surgery. I hope you get to go to Disney very soon.

Thank you for all your kind wishes. Dh had extensive heart investigation a few years ago and was found to be fine. We think we know what is going on, but the ortho guy is unfamiliar with his case. Hopefully all gets settled next week. His surgery is at the end of the month and they expect a full recovery. We just have to get to the surgery....Here's hoping

Here's a :grouphug:and :tink:

My DH has orthostatic hypotension (gets dizzy and can faint if he gets up too quickly), and mds are always looking for alternative explanations with his heart. So far none of the more advanced testing reveals anything, but he gets lots of EKG strips run.

Hopefully all will turn out well for you.

So sorry to read that health issues have caused you to postpone your Disney trip. My wife has poor health and over the years we have had to cancel several trips (Yellowstone & Alaska cruise) in different years.

Things are better now and we're planning a Disney trip with grandkids this summer.

Hope you get a good report and the surgery goes well and you can reschedule your trip.

God bless:littleangel:

Hope all comes together and he has a speedy recovery and you can make your trip as soon as possible. Good luck!:)
