Her beloved hamster has runaway(cage door was ajar). She can't stop crying, is very upset. Please just send good thoughts her way that Daisy is found.Thank you.Her name is Katie.

When DD had a hamster he got out several times during his 2.5 year life. We just left some Cheerios in the vicinity of where we THOUGHT he was hiding. Sure enough, he came out to nibble eventually and DD could just scoop him up.

Oh i'll never forget my dad searching our house for my missing hamster when I was in 4th grade. I was hysterical because we had a cat as well and he used to eye the cage. Our house was huge and I can remember the pure panic I felt.
All turned out fine believe it or not.
I hope dn's hamster finds his way back to the cage soon. I feel for her.

When I was a kid my hamster got out...about 2 days later I found him back near the cage trying to get in to get to his food. It was so funny..after I put him back in he STUFFED his jaws full of food and then tried to get back out! Like the cheerios poster said, I would try leaving some food around to lure him in. Maybe you could even find a live trap and bait it with something tasty! I hope all turns out well for your niece .

Awww, you're poor neice. Hope the little escapee is found soon. Mine got loose once when I was a kid - found him & the remains of my felt Brownie beanie in the floor of my closet.

Hampster was fine - beanie was not.

Here what always worked for us. We would shut all doors and put peanuts in next room, then periodically we would check those rooms and the room where the peanuts were eaten on is the room little Zoey would be. It worked several several times - she was a little escape artist.
