*****UPDATE IS IN POST #24*****

Dear friends, I hesitated to bring this here to this forum. Last week while we were winding down our vacation...relaxing at the resort I got a phone call from my best friend who also attends the same church we do. There had been a terrible accident and one our very dear families' daughters trailer had exploded with her and her children and another child inside.

I am posting a couple of links, one being our church website that will have updates to the status of those involved.

I know there are many praying friends here and prayer warriors. This family needs your prayers so much. This young mother is the daughter of missionaries who were in Guam (their mission field) when this happened. They have made it safely here.

Please, please, please if you do go to the website be respectful of the family, etc. If you feel led to post something I know they would greatly appreciate it.

One of the children passed away Sunday morning. One has been able to come home (she was at the home at the time - also another church member family whom this mother was baby sitting).

Thank you all so much in advance.

Cristy

How tragic!

I read the links; it sounds very very bad without the power of prayer. The poor mother doesn't even know her son died. :sad1:

Prayers said!

How heartbreaking! My prayers are with this entire family. May the Lord hold them in the palm of His hand and give them comfort, peace, and healing that surpasses all understanding.

What a heartbreaking tragedy :sad2:. My heart and healing prayers go out to this poor young family in their time of devastation and the little child they've lost :sad1:. The neighbor who risked his life to save one child is a hero if there ever was one. Thank you Cristy for letting us know, as we indeed have a huge Dis prayer circle you can count on.

live4christp1, I just read your post. I live in Augusta. My heart goes out to the family. Is there anything I can take to the family? Please find out what they are in need of. I will take it to them. Toiletries, bottled water, anything? I will also put them on the prayer list at my church. I will pray for them.

You can PM me if you want.

Thank you all so much!

Gagirl69 - Thanks for the kind offer. I have contacted the church office to see if they can find out of any needs they might have.

Thanks again everyone.

Cristy

How sad and terrible.. they are in my thoughts and prayers.

live4christp1, thanks for checking. Let me know when you find out. I don't work, so I can go to the hospital any time. The burn unit here is one of the best. I pray God will ease their pain emotionally and physically.

I will be praying.

My brother in law was treated for burns at the Doctor's Hospital/Stillwell Center in Augusta. The volunteer network there is awesome - meals around the clock, a bed to sleep in, etc. They could not speak highly enough about the hospital.

Here is last night's update. Praising God for a good report on the surgeries today.

Wednesday June 10th 10:00pm
Lindsay and Emma s surgeries both went very well today. The doctors were pleased with the results. Both of their vital signs remain stable and the family is encouraged by the good day both of them had.

Lindsay’s husband Steven and her sister Jessica had the opportunity to hang pictures of Steven, Lindsay, and their children virtually all over the walls in Lindsay’s room. She is now surrounded by some precious memories that soon we are believing she will be able to enjoy seeing. Another blessing was that Emma’s nurse asked them to ask all those reading this post to pray for God to give her an ”A Game” tonight as she takes care of Emma.

The family asks everyone to pray that the many people whom they are surrounded by in the ICU, waiting room, and various other places would see God in their lives and that someone might come to know the Lord as a result of their presence.

Another prayer request from Randy and Jessica is that Randy’s job would approve leave time for him to be able to stay in Augusta with the family instead of having to commute back and forth from Trenton on his days off.

Linda has asked that people send cards and notes of encouragement addressed to Lindsay. These will be saved and given to her one day to read when she is able to do so. Please send them to the church address given in yesterday’s blog entry. In addition, feel free to post an encouraging comment below as this blog, along with all the comments, will be saved for Lindsay.

Many have asked about arrangements for Ewan. They are still pending at this time and will be announced on this site as soon as is possible.

Another good report this morning.

Thursday June 11th 8:00am
The family has two very significant praises to share with you this morning. The first is Lindsay’s nurse reported to them that the anticipated bleeding from yesterday’s surgeries was far less than anticipated. The second is that Emma’s nurse (The one they had requested prayer for last night) reported to them that last night was an excellent night. Emma’s oxygen and blood levels remain very good. Thank you for your prayers.

Many have asked about arrangements for Ewan. They are still pending at this time and will be announced on this site as soon as is possible.

Please continue to pray. Emma has a bit of a fever, please pray that this, as well as her lung will clear. Pray that the bleeding from Lindsay's skin grafts will be minimal.

Thank you dear friends.
Cristy

Update from church website
Friday June 12th 2:00pm
Lindsay’s surgery went very well this morning. She had skin grafts placed on her upper chest and leg areas. The doctors main concern with these surgeries is for blood loss after the completion of the surgery. Please pray fervently that her blood loss will be minimal.

The doctors informed the family that Emma’s temperature has had a slight increase. They feel that this is due to one of her lungs still not being completely clear. Their concern is that the medicine she has been given has not been able to completely clear this lung. They are planning on taking Emma into surgery on tomorrow to clear this lung if it has not cleared itself by that time. The family asks everyone to please pray fervently for Emma’s lung to clear.

Praise to report on Katie

Tuesday June 16th 5:45pm
It is with much gratitude and praise to our God that the family of Katie McDaniel shares the following update on Katie:

Katie returned late last night from a follow-up visit to the hospital in Cincinnati. The doctors told the family that, even though she is scheduled to return in one month for another follow-up visit, there is no need for her to unless her mother thinks there is a need. The family thanks everyone for all of their prayers and support.

Please continue to pray for Lindsey & Emma. Lindsey has had a fever for a couple of days so right now they are trying to get that under control. They did do the procedure to clear Emmas lung and it went well.

The church site has more updates listed.

Thank you all for your continued prayers for these and their families.

Cristy
