We will be in WDW in October for the MNSSHP and after reading the boards here (and THANK GOD for you all) I have a couple of questions.

First, could someone please help me with making Character dinning arrangements and suggest one that would be best for a 2 year old boy? I would like to do this, but I have no idea what I need to know.

I have seen several abbreviations and am assuming ADR is advanced dinner reservations, please correct me if I am wrong. Do you need these for the character dinners/breakfasts?

Also, I will have a daughter having her 12th birthday while we are there, can anyone suggest a good place to have a bday dinner and any other bday type celebrations we can have for her? I saw something about a pirate cruise, is that for bdays?

And lastly, where is a list of all the abbreviations you all are using on here? :rotfl: I'm a newbie to the board and am LOST!!!

Thank you for any info!

Okay, First, I'd go for CM (Chef Mickeys) or CP (Crystal Palace) for a character meal that will appeal to a boy. CM has Mickey, Donald, Goofy, Chip & Dale. CP has Pooh, Tigger, Piglet and Eeyore. Of course for CP you will need to use a days park admission.

ADR is for advanced dining reservations and you will DEFINITELY need one whether you do breakfast or dinner at one of the character meals. They are very popular and you don't want to risk being turned away.

All the restaurants are good about celebrating birthdays as long as you tell them when you make your ADR. If you want something special, like a cake from the bakery delivered to your table, you need to arrange that ahead of time.

Pirate cruise is just an activity for the kids, not for birthdays or anything, but you certainly could do that for DD (darling/dear daughter). I'm sure that they would make an announcement or do something special for her.

As far as the abbreviations go, I'm not sure where, if anywhere at all, there is a list. But don't ever feel funny about posting to ask what something is-I have had to do it at times and I'd like to think I'm a Disney officianado, but there are times I see something that stumps me. Everyone is pretty friendly and more than happy to provide the info. :flower3:

I was warned to be cautious with the little ones with the characters. Some of them are pretty afraid of the characters. Just be prepared in case. My DD is rather fearless so I am hoping that won't be a problem.

For a 2yo, Crystal Palace sounds nice. It is the Pooh characters. But with a 12yo also, you may be better off with something more like Chef Mickey. Or I heard that the Norway princess meal is fun too. I would ask the 12yo what characters she would like to see and go from there.
