Hi all - we're leaving on June 23 - July 3. I've been looking at an airport discount parking site, but the coupons are only good until 6/30/06. They also don't include their sales tax (15%) + a $1 or $2 per stay something or other.

Has anyone parked at the economy Philly airport parking. Looks like it's $9/day and that's it. Costs come out to about the same, give or take. Just don't want to be waiting for "days" after we collect our luggage (which usually DOES take "days") to get back to the car.

Any advice/opinions would be very much appreciated.

Thanks!!

Sorry, I can't give you any info on the PHL economy parking, but maybe this will be some help. We always use Colonial Airport Parking. If you check out www.longtermparking.com there is a coupon for $1.00 off per day, so it is $8.50 per day which includes all taxes and your 7th day is free.

I've only parked offsite once. Every other time I park at econo lot on site. I've never had an issue when using the airport site. The one time I parked offsite...drop off was fine..but on my return flight I waited 35mins to get picked up by a shuttle...I was not a happy camper.

I've used SunPark, but don't remember about the taxes anymore. After tips, it cost a little more than parking in the long term lot would have been. Getting to the airport was quick, but our experience was the same as Zurgswife's; it took a long time for an empty shuttle to go by, about 45 minutes I think.

I would rather just park in the long term lot, but it looks like we're going to be using one of the off-airport lots again. Our flight doesn't leave until 6:00 p.m. and with the parking situation at PHL, I'm afraid that the long term lot will be full.

We use Ampco Parking. They have inside and outside parking. Outside is cheaper. If you have AAA they give a discount. :thumbsup2

I have parked in the Avistar parking lot and the econo lot. When using the econo lot It was good getting to the terminal. While coming back the bus was full from other terminals and the drive just kept passing by. When we finally got on we were the ones passing the other passengers at the other terminal. I liked Avistar(they have since bought sunpark) I believe it was about 50-55 for the week. You can also find coupons for them at thier site and in the AAA magazine.

I know this may sound silly, but have you considered staying overnght at an airport area hotel, leaving you car there and taking a shuttle to the gate? We live in NE PA and have done ths twice - Once at a Days or comfort inn and once at a Holiday Inn - both times we were able to leve the car in their lot (seems just as safe as the Phila lot), the shuttle :moped: took us right to where we needed to be. Upon return we used a courtesy phone, dialed the code for the hotel, told them what door we were at and they came and got us. The wait :hourglass for the shuttle was not very long at all, and the whole thing cost us less than just the parking fee would cost at the airport.

We have used the economy parking lot at PHL twice. The first time it was ok. We got a spot pretty close to a bus stop and the bus came right away. However I was critcized by the bus driver for having too much stuff. DH and I had 2 suitcases, the car seat, stroller and a carry on and oh yeah the baby. He(in an unpleasant way) suggested dropping all the stuff of at the terminal first. Well I pointed out that I wasn't going to sit on the curb and wait for DH to come on the shuttle to find me. After all you cannot skycap your luggage and check in without every ticketed person in your party being present. At least I don't think so? :confused3 Second time was this past January, the bus driver who was female this time refused to open the doors to the shuttle closest to the front because she would get cold! :sad2: She almost ran over people who were waiting to get on and she drove like a mad woman. Both drivers refused to help with luggage. Overall, I feel its an inconvenience, but I bet sometime in the future I will use them again.

HI! I have a great place it's the Pacifico Ford dealer at the Philadelphia Automall! What they do is you goto them prior to your flight and they will take you in your car to the airport and take your car and park it back at their lot while you are away it is locked in their gated lot and secured! And I believe the longer it is there the cheaper it gets for you! It's a really good deal! A guy that works with my husband is a frequent flyer and he uses them all the time and highly recommends them! You call them when you are on your way to baggage claim and they will meet you at the airport! with your vehicle the website is www.Pacificocars.com Airport Valet parking they also offer a AAA discount or a frequent flyer discount this is all available on their website and if you have any questions you can call them at (215) 492-0990
Hope this helps you!!
