Need ideas for my art class. I am taking a art education class for my masters program. I though of a cute idea, but don't know if it will work.

In honor of Mickey's 75th, I was thinking of doing a Mickey head with three balloons (I guess I would have to tape on the ears) and then painting it pink with some flowers.

Any opinions, advice on best way to do this???

I'm not an artist but I do a lot of crafts. I think I'd tape the balloons using painting tape (the stuff used to edge windows etc. - it would probably hold up to moisture better than just regular tape). I would then secure the balloons together with paper mache strips (I think most craft stores sell strips you just need to wet) and let the strips dry. Then I'd add more strips to cover the balloons, dry and decorate. Good luck. It may take a few trys to get in right so have extra supplies on hand.

Thanks!!!!! I guess I'm off to Home Depot to get painting tape!

My teacher will supply the glue mixture and paper strips. He said to bring masking tape... I'll bring both kinds and extra balloons!
