My Dh and I are thinking of going to WDW FEB 14-Feb 19th 2004. WE are debating between PORS and Pop century. We have AP vouchers which will be actvatied. Is this a good time to go? We realize this is in Value season and we will have limited hours. We stayed at ASMO for our Honeymoon and loved it. WE will be driving unless Airfare gets really cheap.

Well Juli, I have no personal experience with February but have heard it's a good time of the year for low crowds!

As for the resorts, we have stayed at POR twice & loved it both times! It's very scenic & peaceful compared to the hustle & bustle I've seen at the ***.

If it's not much more than Pop Century I'd do that in a minute. You know my opinion about the moderates;)

We are going to ASMv for the first time in November, so we'll let a certain donkey girl know if we DON'T like it:mad: ;)

Why don't you tell Grumpy to speed it up & go in November?:p :D
You girls could go shop 24/7 & the G man & I could sit, talk, harrass the pin trader CMs & do the rides;)

I'd tell grumpy man to speed it up and go in NOV. but Donkey girl has no Vacation time, and doesn't dare ask for any more days off, plus going in Feb. is a speed up from the orig. plan of going in Late mar./early april.

Before taxes and any discounts it PC 77.00 and POR 133.00. You guys harassing Pin Cm's I feel for them. Gman would be saying sorry no pups or donkeys can't trade with you, mY wife would have me arrested if I did.

Well Juli, I do think that February would probably be a good time to go. I've personally never been. I am sure though that if you read up on the trip boards you'll get a good feel for it. I have gone on the value seasons and off times and the shorter hours don't matter as the parks have been less crowded.

Personally I'd go up for the DxL... I think the grounds there are absolutely gorgeous there!! I've never stayed there but visited and really wish I could stay some time. Wish I could help more :)

Haven't stayed at POR but my vote would go to Pop Century just because it would be neat to stay there when it's brand new.

If you go, I'll see you there! We'll be honeymooning from the 17th to the end of the month.... be careful though, you'll be there during Presidents day weekend which is supposed to be quite busy!

You won't be disappointed by short park hours if you stay at POR. You might even want to head back to your hotel early to get in some resort-exploring. I love the moderates -- lots of grounds to explore.

Well I have only been to WDW during two types of time frames... July and February. February wins HANDS DOWN!!! It was fantastic. We're from the middle of Canada though, so the heat is extra unbearable to us, which gives February a huge bonus since it's not so hot! Yes, the hours are shorter... but Epcot for instance usually stays open a bit later... and even in the summer AK closes early... so you can work around it. It encouraged us to do other things like try out Pleasure Island at night. For us, the mid-day hours in the summer aren't comfortable anyway, so even though there's longer hours in the summer... there are more "usuable" hours in February for us. Did I mention I LOVED February? ;) :teeth:

(One extra side note I'll edit in... is that President's Week adds a lot of crowds. We ended our stay at the very beginning of President's Weekend and noticed the crowds picking up already... but as long as those dates don't coincide you'll be fine!)

bawahahahaahhaa....I think this is hilarious john!

ooops....hijacked thread!!!!!!

I just drove past the Pop Century and frankly I was not impressed. It is very gaudy. Ok that is part of the Disney magic, but I did not like it. It is HUGE. February is a good time to go except that I concur about President's Week. I would avoid that if you can.

Boo's Mom..... I was thinking the same thing..

It's very scenic & peaceful compared to the hustle & bustle I've seen at the ***.

Who new All Star Sport's was a banned word.....:earseek: :earseek: :earseek: :earseek:

One thing on PC. If you like, or don't like All Stars, PC is a virtual duplicate of All Stars, number and style of rooms, resort layout, everything, just the theming is changed

ROTFLMThongO

Juli-We go in February often...as a matter of fact I'm trying to decide between the last week of Feb & the first week of March right now:D As the others have said, as long as you miss President's week the crowds are pretty low.

thanks everyone for suggestions. WE loved ASMO when we stayed there in Nov. We will be going a week earlier d/t the whole presidents day weekend thing.
