Trying to decide if we'll like this or not. Asking more about the atmosphere of the place than the food. Is it fun, or is it kinda goofy? Anyone not like it?
We have been to WCC and enjoyed those antics. But after seeing some youtube videos of 50's, I'm not so sure if will like 50's PT. But really want to give it a shot, and am in need of another dining option for our day at that park.
so tell me... is it really fun, or did anyone find it annoying?

We did not find it annoying. We thought it was cute. Our server reminded us repeatedly to keep our elbows off the table - my DH couldn't remember, so our server drew lines of ketchup on the table in front of him so he couldn't put his elbows down! (A little while later, the server brought a rag so DH could clean up the table)

Did not think any of it was over the top.

We love it . . . very fun! We go every year for the fried chicken . . . it is the best! The atmosphere is neat . . . .like your sitting in Beaver's kitchen. All of our kids, 15, 13, 4 and 4 enjoy going there . . . .it's a must do every year! If you go, hope you enjoy it!!!

I think it depends on the CM you get at 50's Prime Time . We ate here in 2007and our CM did nothing to play into the theme , I thought the meal would be super fun with our CM telling us to eat our veggies , use our manners and stuff like that but no such luck . She was just a regular CM, just like you would get at any other WDW restaurant . This was such a disappointment we haven't been back since and not sure we will be trying it again for awhile . As far as the food goes though it was very good home cooked food . Hope this helps with your decision . Have a great trip princess:

the atmosphere was OK. nothing that great IMHO!
The food was the worst ever at any WDW restaurant!!!!!!!!!
We've tried it 3 times and just HORRIBLE!!! HORRIBLE!!! HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!

Believe me.... we gave it every chance to redeem itself.... but we will never go back there!!

We enjoy the 50's PTC very much and we will be returning on our next trip. Adult DS was skeptical last time, as he did not want "over the top" antics. Our server was just perfect. He kidded with us a bit, but not too much.
We loved the food too. DH had the Pot Roast and he said it was great DS and I had the Fried Chicken and we liked it very much. It is not gournet, but it is good "Down Home Cooking"
Have a Great Trip

We just ate there Tuesday for my birthday and had a blast! DS was annoyed with the relentless "Keep your elbows off the table" and I enjoyed that so much! Our waitress was perfect - not over the top - but did the "Clean Your Plate" club to a T! Awesome Fried Chicken and Green Beans! We make a point to go every trip!

thats great i been trying to find out if this place is worth it and just got my answer

We've been numerous times and have enjoyed each and every one! Your server is really good at determining whether or not to joke around with you. The first time we went, my DH was sick with a cold and we were all starting to to feel tired so our server was very laid back.

This past trip, we were all healthy this time! Our server (Uncle something) was perfect. He kept telling us to keep our elbows off the table and the minute he turned around, my DH stuck his elbows on the table and the server yelled hey, I saw that Dad! We all laughed and so did the table next to us! Then he came back to check on us and saw my DD hadn't finished her meatloaf. He said, no clean plate no dessert little lady, take a bite or else eat Dad's green beans! Would you believe she chose to eat the green beans!:lmao:

Overall, I love this place! The atmosphere is awesome, I love the decor. We loved the food here as well. Like I said, the server can judge whether or not you want to be hassled! :goodvibes

The first two times we ate there the action was hilarious, we had a great time....the last two times we ate there our server just wasnt into it that much.

We were there just a week ago and enjoyed it.

Our waiter called my stepdaughter elbow girl cause she couldn't keep her elbows off the table (she is an adult)
He sent DH back to the men's room cause he didn't give the proper answer to what color the soap was.:rotfl2:

He made DGS set the table, which was shocking to him.:rotfl:

The food was very good, and the "fun" wasn't overdone, so we all enjoyed it.
Try to get an early ADR, as there was quite a line when we left. (ours was at 11:30am)

We love it! It is a great deal of fun if you play along with them. The food is good, we particularly love the Fried Chicken and the Pot Roast. The last two times we were there we tried different places but plan to go back this year as nothing really compares, either in atmosphere or quality. Just remember to not take it too seriously, you are at Disney after all.

My brother and his family went on their first WDW trip in January. We advised them to go to 50's Prime Time. Their dinner at 50PT was the first thing they told us about when they returned.

My nephew celebrated his birthday that day. He was given a birthday cupcake and his waitress hollered out for everyone to sing Happy Birthday to Jared. After everyone sang the first line of "Happy Birthday to you", the waitress obnoxiously yelled, "JARED!!!". She did the same thing after the second line of Happy Birthday was sung in addition to doing it the last line of the song. The kids loved it. The kids also loved it that the waitress kept badgering my brother to eat his beans.

I love 50's - this is one of my favorite dinner adrs. The theming is really neat - I love the atmosphere of eating in a 50's style kitchen. We've had fun servers who have played their roles well - they haven't taken it so far that it would be annoying. The food is pretty good - it's not gourmet - but I get the pot roast and really enjoy it. I can't wait to eat there this Sept!

I have been there three times and each time was amazing. Our servers were very much into their characters and the food also tasted great.

We had fun the one time we went. My Dad ate every morsel on his plate (I can't remember what he ordered) and our CM held it up for the whole room to see what a good boy he was. We have reservations there for our trip in June. Can't wait to go back.

I also have ADR there, and I was skeptical. I decided to keep them but I may let our server know to keep it light. DS(3) is shy and I dont want him feeling nervous or not wanting to eat because of it. I would love to see the place and eat and skip all of the act part, but I guess its what they do. Ill ty to get into it a bit.
