Need opinions on 4th of July week, please.

We've been during the week before Easter and Halloween week. We managed quite well with the Easter trip thanks to tips from the boards, of course Halloween was awsome. What's it like during the week of 4th of July?

We were there that week in 2001. We've also been the 3rd week in October. When comparing the 2 I think that you will find it a little more crowded and much much hotter. The sun at that time of year was unmerciful to say the least. As for the crowds, we used fastpass for all of the major attractions and we got lucky enough to get ressies for the Castle on an early entry morning. We got there at the beginning of early entry and walked on everything in Fantasyland other than Dumbo, which we skipped because of the line. By the time our priority seating rolled around we were completely through with Fantasyland. We also made use of an e-ride night that week which was great for no waits on the major attractions. I will say that Epcot was packed the night we went and we did not get to see Illuminations. As for the 4th itself, we were at Cocoa beach-having a vacation from the crowds, so I really can't comment on what it was like . With proper planning, use of fastpass, and lots of breaks it can go smoothly. For my money, I won't be back at that time of year, but I enjoy the fall. It's Disney you'll have a great time!

Thanks, Tiggergal & fellow Kentuckian! We loved the Fall too, but had to take DGD8 out of school to go. I just bought into DVC & want to visit my new "home" asap, so I was thinking summer since we've already taken DGD out of school once this year. We want to go for Christmas sometime too, but DGD is going on a Disney Cruise with her "other grandparents" this year. Poor kid, she doesn't have a chance since all her grandparents love Disney. She's destin to become a Disney snob for sure.
