We are going from Feb 20-March 6 (2 weeks). The first week we are staying at BLT studio standard view (we didn't want to use the extra points for a better view-too many). The studio will fit us all just fine. It will be me, DH and three kids 7,5, and 2. So my question:

For the second week (7 days each), should we stay at the BWV or BCV? Which view? I know that BC doesn't have a view but is there a certain location I should request?I have never stayed at either one but we have walked around the lake/boardwalk and do like it. We are leaning towards the BWV boardwalk view but is it worth the extra points? Is it too busy, making gardenview or pool view better? Or is standard best? All the above are available right now so I am trying to make my decision quickly before they fill up.

I think my kids would really like SAB but my son has seen pictures of the clown pool at BWV and wants to go there. I have thought about the fact that we could stay at BC and go over to the pool at BW (since we can pool hop at BW and not at BC).

SO my next question is, would you just stay at BLT the whole two weeks and not move at all? Will we miss the convenience of the monorail? We have never stayed on a monorail resort either (we aren't renting a car this time). We have stayed at SSR, OKW, AKV and have liked them all (rented a car these trips). OKW was our least favorite since we tend to like our counter service food option and there wasn't much of one there?

We are there for 2 weeks and tend to spend a lot of time at the hotel/pool so I want to get it right. :)

Thanks for reading, sorry so long, I would love any advice anyone could offer!!!

First, recognize that your decision may be made for you if there is limited availablity. Especially the view decision at BWV - its possible, but not likely, that you will be offered Boardwalk View or Standard View - I think your chances of only have preferred view available to you at seven months are better than 50%.

With that in mind - BCV has the very cool pool - but I wouldn't be caught dead there with three kids your kid's age. I call it the "Loreal Pool" because I need to redye my hair watching my kids there. The pool is large and spread out - the slide (where your seven year old will want to be) is not visible from the zero entry area) where your two year old will want to be.

BCV doesn't have zero entry at all though - and its kiddie pool is set back from the main pool, which will make watching kids a challenge there as well - though less of a challenge than at SAB.

actually, I was quite surprised (pleasantly) that everything was available for my requested dates (as of my phone call this morning). This includes all room types (didn't ask about MK view) at BLT, BCV and BWV.

Its always really great when that happens. But I hate setting the expectation that that will be the case.....

We have stayed at both BCV and BWV and enjoy both but we love the BWV for the convenience of being able to walk to Epcot and DHS. We hate the boat, it is the slowest boat around.

There are times weatherwise in March that I wouldn't want to spend much time at the pool. So, if I could get BWV standard that would be my first choice. If not, then I'd go with BCV since as you noted, you can hop over to BWV and still have SAB if the weather is nice enough to swim. Except for Friday and Saturday which cost 1 point each day more at the BCV, the BWV pool view costs the same as BCV, so look upon that 1 point as the cost of enjoying SAB if the weather is nice enough.

Personal preference is BWV, particularly if you can get boardwalk view, which is the best. One advantage BWV will have for your trip -- it is currently undergoing a refurb of the resort and rooms which is supposed to be completed in January and thus essentially in Feb you should be walking into a room that looks almost new.

I haven't stayed at BWV, but my kids are completely addicted to the BC pool. We are going in Janury and they asked if we are spending part of the the trip at BCV (we are). I have to say my DH and I love the pool there as well. The sand on the botton is like getting a foot massage.

I would love to have the option of trying to get a BW view at BWV but my youngest “has to have” SAB.

Here us my suggestion, upgrade to LV at BLT and downgrade to standard view at BWV, as it is actually 5 less points.

I would go bonkers staying at the same resort for 2 weeks

How old are your kids--can they all swim well? Mine cannot so I don't know if that will make a difference in us (DH and I) enjoying the pool. I have a range in age from 2-7 (even the 7 year old is not a confident swimmer).

Also, do they have counter service options?

Just wondering if the boardwalk view tends to be loud and way too busy? I also wonder how often the rooms aren't completed by their projected date. I am going end of Feb, so you would think they should be done by then.

Generally, when in room with balcony doors closed you hear little to nothing. You will here the boat horns go off as if in the distance and sometimes a loud group may get right below you and you will hear that as muffled. You can obviously hear more when on the balcony. To me it is not an issue and for boardwalk view (best existing view right now for DVC; BLT MK view hasn't started yet) I would put up with a lot more noise than I have ever experienced there.

As to "busy," in the evening there are many strolling the boardwalk (daytime few, early morning you get to see some joggers and the workers spraying down and cleaning the boardwalk). You also get to see the sun rise over Epcot, the upper fireworks of Illuminations and Wishes at night, and in late afternoon to night you can look out over the lake toward Epcot, BC or YC and see people moving about in the distance and some riding those surrey bikes. Really, it does not get any better than this.

As to time of completion for refurb, who knows. What was reported is that the intent was to finsh in December but they are going to shut down refurb half of December for the holidays and thus finish in January.

I own at BW and have stayed at both BC and BW many times.... I have a three and 1/2 year old daughter and for us the pool at Beach Club makes it a MUST for us if we are staying more than 4 nights....Not sure how water friendly your children are... if they are good swimmers you may be able to do BW (which me and my DH Love) but if you are going to be spending any serious time at the pool I would opt for BC... the BW is not that far that you can't walk over in the evening to enjoy the entertainment and dining... just my two cents...

Mine are 6 and 10, neither are strong swimmers, I just through a life jacket on them and let them have fun.
