Need OKW experts...

Hi Everyone!

We have our reservations set We are staying at OKW from Jan. 12th to Jan. 22nd. As I have been going over things with my husband, we have a lot of questions coming up. First, let me explain, we are regulars at CBR, my son and hubby LOVE IT there! They are VERY skeptical about staying in a studio at OKW, but I assured them, they will love it! (I am keeping my fingers crossed)

Ok, here goes the questions so far...

I have read different answers to this questions on the boards...
Does OKW have the refillable resort cups??

From what I am understanding, we do not have mousekeeping in the studio, just clean towels on the forth day, Is that correct? And if that is the case, what if we need to Vac. something up, or would like clean sheets? If you could just explain to me a little how it all works with that, do I need to bring our own soap, and shampoo and stuff? (My son pointed out to me last night, if there is no mousekeeping, that means no cute disney animal towels left in our room everyday, that was a added plus to CBR)

Is there pin trading at the DVC resorts just like there is at the other resorts? (My son is a big stitch pin person, and always looking for new ones)

I know there are a few quiet pools besided the main theme pool, are there hot tubs by the quiet pools also, or is there only one main hot tub at the theme pool?

Thats all the questions I can think of right, it is still early in the morning As I think of more I will add them. Thank you in advance to anyone that can help answer these questions, and any helpful advice and tips any of you can give me about OKW to help make our stay even more magical

You can have a full cleaning scheduled should you need it by just calling the front desk, but there will be a charge of $25 per day that you do that. I assume you are renting points for this stay. If not, and you are reserving through CRO, you WILL get housekeeping everyday just like at any resort. Just remember that this is a timeshare and housekeeping is not status quo for timeshares.

Is there pin trading at the DVC resorts just like there is at the other resorts? (My son is a big stitch pin person, and always looking for new ones)

Of course, it's Disney, pins are traded everywhere.

I know there are a few quiet pools besided the main theme pool, are there hot tubs by the quiet pools also, or is there only one main hot tub at the theme pool?

There are 4 pools at OKW and each has a hot tub with it as well as a playground.

BTW, I just wanted to add that you will love the extra space in an OKW studio. I have stayed at CBR, and it is CRAMPED! I guess for a couple and 1 child a studio will work, but I would much prefer a 1 bedroom at least so said child can be out in a different room. I also like the use of the full kitchen and big balcony/porch of the 1 and 2 bedroom units.

At OKW, the studio bathroom is large and the kitchenette is certainly serviceable. There is also a larger than normal closet and storage space in the armoire that holds the TV.

(My son pointed out to me last night, if there is no mousekeeping, that means no cute disney animal towels left in our room everyday, that was a added plus to CBR) If you're renting, you can pay for daily mousekeeping service. If not, you will have mousekeeping service every day as if you were staying at another resort. There is a complimentary supply of toiletries (soap, shampoo, etc.)

I know there are a few quiet pools besided the main theme pool, are there hot tubs by the quiet pools also, or is there only one main hot tub at the theme pool? Every pool area has a hot tub. We've tried them all!

okw has refillable mugs - but they can only be refilled at the good's snack bar.

no just running up to a machine and getting your mug refilled.

I have never seem good's without a line.

plus if your resort is beyond 27 - then I won't get the refillable mug.

Since your visit is over eight days, you'll get a full cleaning on the fourth day (1/15) and trash and towel on the eighth day (1/19). There's also a vacuum cleaner in the room. You'll get soap and shampoo, but I don't think I've ever seen hand lotion in a DVC room.

There were two towel animals in our room when we checked into OKW last May.

Mugs can also be refilled at the Turtle Shack snack bar at Turtle Pond Pool. But the Shack is usually only open during busy periods.

Standard Lanyard trading with CM's like everywhere else in WDW. But be advised, all resort pin trading events have ended at WDW.
