Need new sheets!

Anyone have recommendations for some GOOD soft sheet sets? We need a new set and they don’t make the ones we have anymore. I am going blind reading reviews where one person says they are the softest sheets ever and the next person says they feel like sandpaper. I like super soft cotton, nice and thick so they last more than a year. Anyone have any they just LOVE? — looking for recommendations.

Looking for cotton recommendations, not linen, bamboo or microfiber. Thanks!

My favorite sheets, surprisingly, are Target's Threshold Performance sheets. They have deep pockets so I don't struggle making my king size bed, they have tags inside that indicate "top/bottom" which I like, and they stay cool which is important to me. They are soft to me, but I don't know if I'd categorize them as soft like a baby blanket or something in that vein. Perhaps you should look at jersey knit sheets for something like that?

I have not tried them myself, but there are sheets on Amazon that have a cult following - Mellanni Brushed Microfiber 1800 Bedding. Comes in a ton of colors and has 4.5 stars with over 60,000 reviews which is pretty amazing. Affordable too.

Honestly I really like IKEA’s 100% cotton sheets. The higher thread count ones aren’t a super high count by any means but they’re very reasonably priced, last for YEARS and are pretty soft.

I call myself the Princess and the Pea. I'm really sensitive to rough fibers or something not smooth.

I have some Wamsutta Dreamweaver sheets I bought about 6 years ago that I love; however, even though they still sell them, they are not the same, so I won't buy those anymore.

Last year, I bought my kids some of the sheets from Brooklinen. They aren't bad. A little on the "thin" side though, but when I lay on them, they are pretty smooth.

Sheets are very difficult and subjective as far as preference so I've never done well on anyone's recommendations, unfortunately.

Last week I was at Disney and stayed at the Grand Floridian (year before was Contemporary). I found their sheets to be pretty soft/nice and I wouldn't mind trying to figure out what they are.

My favorites are the Kirkland Signature 680 threadcount sheets I get at Costco. They are the BEST sheets I've ever had. My only "complaint" is that they are sized for super thick mattresses, and tend to bunch up a bit if your mattress isn't that thick. Elastic all the way around on the fitted sheets. Super comfortable. And they last very, very well. And, the price is reasonable for the quality.

For winter I would recommend Dormisette sheets. German made thick 100% cottton flannel, Amazon sells them or you can also check eBay for your size.

I bought sheets from Amazon a couple of months ago on the recommendation of a friend, &, so far, both DH & I love them. However, since they're still relatively new, I can't attest to how they're going to hold up.

They really are very soft & cozy, but not hot-feeling or "sticky". And I like how they fit the mattress.

4 1/2 stars w/ over 9,000 reviews -

Sheet Set - 4 Piece - Hotel Luxury Bed Sheets - Extra Soft - Deep Pockets - Easy Fit - Breathable & Cooling - Wrinkle Free - Comfy

EDITED TO ADD - The description says they're a "brushed microfiber", so you may not be interested. I had no idea - they feel like a soft cotton to me.

I love my Cariloha bamboo sheets! If you sign up for their email list you can usually get a 25-35% discount code on a regular basis. They are a splurge but so, so comfortable!

I haven't bought new sheets in donkey years because well made bedding should last at least as long as your mattress.

Here's a link that might help you figure out the specifications you need to buy comfortable sheets that don't fade readily, and last for years:

For those of you buying Costco sheets, has that been recent?

I bought some Kirkland sheets many years ago (probably about 8 years now). They were just "okay." I wouldn't buy again (these were the nice ones). But I know that manufacturers change yearly so maybe they are better now?

I've tried a bunch of different brands and keep coming back to Target. Threshold are excellent quality and stay put on the corners of the mattress. I prefer a crisp percale sheet. Smooth and cool sheets feel so good. If you like flannel or jersey then these probably aren't for you.
