Happy New Year everyone. I am in need of some new dishes. The ones I have now are not supposed to break (haha!!!! they shatter:confused3). Can anyone recommend a good brand/type? I also don't want to break the bank.

The best shatterproof I know of is Corelle but my pattern is $50 for a service of 4. That's probably still worth it because they have never broken.

Love my Fiestaware. They will break but not easily. Plus the colors are fun! I mix and match mine.

Check out your nearest IKEA store. Very very good plates and lots of other things.

You can get great deals on the Fiestaware place settings by waiting until Macy's has a 10 off of 25 coupon and using it on the setting. There's also an outlet, I believe.

None of my Fiesta (most at least 15 years old) has chipped.

Corelle will break and shatter, but in my experience it happens after quite a few drops and lots of use. We are not people who are easy on things. I'm not, my husband isn't, and my 4 kids are certainly not! I do not think you can do better than Corelle, b that is just my opinion.

Fiesta does get silverware marks sometimes... I think you can polish them off though, I also think it depends a lot on the color.

Love my fiesta ware - have all different colors, and they are so cheerful - have not had one chip yet!

Kohl's sells fiesta ware too. If you watch they run some good sales.

Our JCPenney store has Fiesta on clearance. I love mine! No chips or broken dishes yet and we are hard on them. We do have knife scratches on the plates.
