Alright, so I admit that I went to book my reservations too late.

We have reservations at Scifi, Boma, Hoopdedoo, and les chefs de france. I REALLY wanted to go to le cellier, but it is completely booked and so is chef mickeys. Anyways, what I'm wondering is what are two good restaurants to go to that will be comparable to le cellier and chef mickeys? I was thinking perhaps Crystal Palace, and I'm not sure about for le cellier...any help would be appreciated!

I loved spoodles

Instead of Le Cellier: Yachtsman's Steakhouse. Steak, and near Epcot
Instead of CM: Cape May Cafe at the Beach Club. I know they have a character breakfast, uncertain if they're there for dinner.
Spoodles is nice. We like to order several tapas (appetizers) and share between DW and I. Saves us some time, as they tend to come out quickly.

Enjoy,
Sean

Hi!

Can you give use some information about who is in your party? Are you going to Chef Mickey's for the food? or for the character interaction. Do you have kids traveling with you? What meal were you planning on eating at Chef Mickey's... and do you want a suggestion for something around MK for that day?

Thanks!

Lisa

I think I might have to look up more info abotu Spoodles, I never even considered it!

Anyways we are both 2 girls in college and it is just the two of us...I'm not sure if we need another character meal or not since we have the hoop dee doo reserved. Something around MK would be nice...whats everyones thoughts on 1900 park fare?

How about Rose & Crown instead of Le Cellier? I've heard the steaks are good there:woohoo: I like dinner at LTT so that may be another option instead of CM. I also like 'Ohana at the Poly.

Have fun:)

Terri

I think the buffet at Crystal Palace is better than 1900 Park Fare--JMO though. I also love Ohana at Poly, like tluvstink said.

Another thought is Kona. I have never really heard a bad comment about the place and I enjoyed it there myself. Do look into spoodles, most people are surprised at how good it is as it is a like a hidden gem. I liked it a little more than le cellier. It was second on my DH's list as he like lecellier better.

If your looking for something similar to Le Cellier you should try Raglan Road in downtown disney. I actually found the steak better at Raglan. Also, if you make reservations around 8 there is a live band and a highland dancer.

The Concourse Steakhouse at the Contemporary is fantastic! You just jump on the monorail from the Magic Kingdom. Do you have the dining plan? I also loved Spoodles and the Crystal Palace is a great buffet. I find the food way better at a non-buffet restaurant though.

If you really want Chef Mickeys I'd keep calling. I called last night and got CM the for the first week in June. It was for dinner at 8:50, but I had several early times to choose from and several nights. I also had no trouble getting Le Cellier for lunch

You say ANOTHER character meal...HDDR is not a character meal. It is a dinner show but there aren't Disney characters there.

1900 would be nice for two young women. I like the food better than CM. If you like Pooh CP is great too.

I'd do either Kona or 'Ohana. They're both easy to get to from MK and they're both good food. Both have become regular stops for us, and when compared to Chef Mickey's the food is a lot better at Kona or 'Ohana--no question (though Chef Mickey's is fun).

Thanks for that info! I thought HDDR had characters in it, I had no idea that it didn't! I'm definitely going to book a character meal then.

I went to CP when I was like...9 or something, but I don't really remember it. I think I might try 1900 just because I like the little boat ride over from MK hehe

If you want to do a character meal i would suggest Crystal Palace. It's in the MK, and is very similar to chef mickeys just different characters. Also O'hana is a great dinner spot.

Just wanted to make sure you are getting the dining plan!! With all those TS meals you can save a lot of money with it.

Instead of Le Cellier, I would go to Artist Point.

Le Cellier used to be our favorite, but atmosphere, food, service, all have gone downhill in our estimation.

Artist Point has the same kind of foods, steak/potatoes, salmon etc., but with a lovely atmosphere, delicious food, and excellent service.

As for character meal, that's a hard one, since the atmosphere is what makes Chef Mickey. As mentioned, Crystal Palace would be nice and also 1900 Park Fair. The one character meal we did not care for was Liberty Tree, maybe it was a bad day since many people love it. Same with Norway.
