Hi! I need your expertise, please. For the first time, I will need more than a 10 day park hopper pass. I will actually have 12 days that I will spend in the parks, some days with family and some solo days.:cool1:
The CM I talked to this morning wasnt sure how this worked.:confused3 My room reservations are made with a 10 day park hopper, but she didnt know how to add more. She said I would have to just ask when I am in the park and that the price would go back to the original daily price for the extra days. Is this correct? Thanks in advance for your help!

You cannot get more days on any ticket sold in the US. You will have to purchase separate tickets for the extra days.

Yep, it's probably more economical to just get the annual pass. When you factor in the discounts you're eligible for, you're probably saving money over the 10-day pass.

Alternatively, get the Water Park Fun + More option on your 10-day pass, and that gives you 10 admissions to either of the water parks and DisneyQuest. Plenty of ways to kill extra days.

That's what I was afraid of! I just wish the CM had been able to be confident about her answer. Oh, well, I think I will stick with the 10 day and then add the other days as needed when the time comes. Thanks for your help!!!!:thumbsup2

Just so we're clear, these will be on a separate ticket and back to the expensive pricing. PP's suggestions of an AP are good ones.

Umm, ok, after the 3rd person mentioned the AP, I am now wondering about that! What other benefits are there besides a possible price break?

The purchase price of your 10-day ticket can be applied to your AP, so you won't lose money. (If you bought a discounted 10-day ticket, you may want to consider using it to enter the parks first. It'll make sure you get the full price applied to the AP.)

There are some events and whatnot that Passholders are eligible for. They also get good discounts on rooms. I didn't mention any of that because it didn't seem relevant to your situation.

You also get discounts at the spas and what not. Check out this page for details on what AP holders get. https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/passholder-program/passholder-benefits-and-discounts/

My suggestion is figure out the places you plan to eat, and how much you plan to spend on souvenirs. See how much the AP discount will save. Take that off the price of the AP ... and if the AP saves you money, get it. (Also consider whether or not you might be able to come back for a second trip that year!) If not, stick with your 10-day, but add the Water Parks option, so you can still have things to do with your extra days. I don't think it would be worth it at all to go back to the more expensive pricing to add more days.

Basically, the CM is correct. You can't purchase more than a 10-day ticket in the US. If you need more days, you need to purchase an Annual Pass, or purchase a new 2-day ticket at the parks. Disneyworld's ticket pricing scheme is most expensive for the first 3 days, so those 2 extra days you need would be expensive compared to an entire 10-day ticket. You could consider adding Water Park Fun & More to your 10-day ticket for $27.69. That would fill up your extra days with 10 entries for water parks, mini golf, Oak Trail 9-hole golf, DisneyQuest.

Your 10-day Park Hopper ticket would be worth (with tax) $440.91. A new 2-day base ticket (no Hopper) would be $200.22. Added together for 12 park days, that would cost $641.13.

You could purchase an Annual Pass, with credit from your 10-day PH. An Annual Pass (with tax) costs $675.21. Subtract your ticket credit ($440.91) and the AP would cost $234.30. The upgrade to AP would have to be done before your 10-day ticket is completely used up. The start date of the AP would be the start date you first used your 10-day PH. The end date would be that same date, one year in the future. The AP has park hopper on it, and free theme park parking even if staying off-site. Plus discounts on park purchases and other discounts. It's not a bad deal if you believe you'd be returning to WDW within the year.

Thanks so much, all! I knew this was the best place for the info I needed! Sounds like the AP is the way to go!:thumbsup2:worship::yay:
Now, I just have to figure out a way to get to WDW again before the AP expires...:yay:

Basically, the CM is correct.

While technically correct (the best kind of correct!), it's not helpful. A good Cast Member should have offered suggestions, rather than just saying "I can't add days to a 10-day pass." Someone shouldn't have to go to a Disney forum to find this out.

Now, I just have to figure out a way to get to WDW again before the AP expires...:yay:

Be careful. That way lies madness. ;)

Also, if you're not staying on property on one of your visits, you get free parking. That's always nice. :)
