DH and DS want to attend the DCI championships in Madison on August 11 & 12. Orbitz and Travelocity don't show any rooms available for those dates.

What is a close town/area to Camp Randall Stadium? Any B&Bs? Any suggestions within a 30-35 minute drive? They would prefer a 3-star or better place.

Inntowner, Concourse, there is a Marriott and a Sheraton Express, Holiday Inn with a special pool . Anything that is 30 mins away will be in another town. Seriously anything in Madison or Middleton is very close and easy to get to Camp Randall from.

Wisconsin Dells is about 30 minutes north of Madison, lots of cool hotels up there. It might take a little longer getting to Camp randall, have to go all the way thru town.

I would avoid the WI Dells. I love spending a weekend every summer at the Dells, but it is a tourist trap and many of the hotels are borderline inhabitable. The ones that are nice will cost you an arm and a leg.

I love the Concourse. It is on the Capitol Square which is not really walkable to Camp Randall, but would be a short drive away. If you decide to stay at the Concourse, consider staying in the "Governor's Club". It is basically their Conceirge level. For a few bucks more, you get decent snacks in the evening, continental breakfast, cookies in the afternoon, and my favorite, free cocktails from (I believe) 5pm-10pm! The Concourse is also in a great location for restaurants, shopping, etc.

If you are looking for something closer to Camp Randall, there is a Best Western a few blocks down the street. It's the Best Western Inntowner and the Highland Club on University Ave. My parents stayed there once (okay...it was about 10 years ago) when I lived across the street and were fine with it.

Every one that you have all listed is sold out. Any places to the south or east that would not be over 45 minutes driving time?

Thanks!

I've stayed at the Hilton Lake Monona Terrace before in a suite and it was gorgeous there. Great view of the lake and of the Capitol building!!
I would highly recommed!! :thumbsup2

I wonder if this is the weekend kids go back to school at UW?

You might want to see if there is anything available around West Towne Mall. There are several hotels along the Beltline (main road going through Madison) on the west side of town.
