I have been a SAHM for 11 years (love it) but I'm going to reenter the work force. I have an interview with a Dr.'s office this afternoon. I have not been on an interview in 20years (worked at same place for 9 yrs before having children). I am so scared and nervous. :crazy2: Can anyone tell me what type of questions to expect? Answer tips? TIA

At our workplace, we do an interviewing type we call Targeted Selection. Basically, we ask questions, and want answers about spefic incidents, what you did, and how it turned out. For instance, "Tell me about a time when you had to leverage people from different departments, and gain their cooperation to acheive a goal." We'd want to know the circumstances, the actions taken, and the results.

You may not face that, but more and more companies are doing that.

The most important advice I can give you is to "appear" confident - even though your stomach is doing flip flops.. Sit back in the chair - not on the edge of the seat, like you're ready to bolt out the door.. Smile! Shake the interviewer's hand firmly.. Be prepared to answer questions about what you have been doing for the past 11 years; why you're interested in re-entering the work force now; and the salary that you are looking for (the one question I have always hated the most!)..

Good luck! You can do this..:thumbsup2

We ask the same type questions as shirlyb's company. A point to remember is that you do not necessarily need to use work related instances especially since you have been out of the workforce for so long. When you were a SAHM were you on a committee with the PTA or church or other group? You can use those experiences also.
