Need input for old directions

Hi -- Since I am still doing the happy dance like crazy (we get home to OKW this Saturday), I was assembling my paperwork and wondered if anyone out there had the old directions DVC used to print on their confirmations. The directions were from MCO to OKW and did not take the Greenway or whatever that is.

It seems shorter to us and definitely has a few less tolls. You end up coming in from I-4.

If someone would have that handy and could pass it on to me it would be greatly appreciated.

I would stay off the beeline and I-4. It's worth every penny of the $2.00 in tolls on 417 (FL Greenway). 417 has way less traffic. Take the south exit out of the airport and take the exit for 417 south. Go through 2 $1.00 tolls. Get off at exit 6 (International Drive 536), stay straight until you pass under the WDW arch. Take the third exit after the arch for OKW. About 25 minutes from the airport.

There are tolls on the beeline, not sure how much, $1 something.

ITA with DebbieB - we've never been on the I-4 when there hasn't been a lot of traffic. On a few occasions, we've been stuck for what seemed like hours (well at least one hour) after an accident. There seem to be lots of accidents/mishaps on I-4.

Take the Greenway - can't tell you how happy we were to finally "discover" it.

P.S. There are at least 3 tolls on the Beeline between MCO and I-4 and IIRC, there is not a significant difference in cost between the two routes.

I believe the difference in tolls on Beeline is 50 cents - it may be less. For the money I think it is well worth it to take the much more direct route, and not deal with the traffic in the more touristy areas.

But - coming out of the airport you take Beeline (528 I believe) west to I-4 west. You'll see familiar things approaching the Crossroads shopping center and you can either exit there at 535, go right, then left onto Hotel Plaza Blvd - right at DTD and then left past the fire house. Or you can exit at 536 and follow the signs to OKW.

Thanks so much for the input -- we'll (DH and I) discuss the options and see which he prefers.

I just can't wait. I'm in the midst of sorting through toiletries and laundry soap, fabric softener sheets and my paring knife to see how much I can get into the suitcase I have chosen. (Remember, I have to be able to lift it -- and so do the airline people -- or they charge you!)

DD and her DH are driving and called in as they left today. They are stopping in Savannah and St. Augustine on the way down. We are all excited.
