Hi thinking pf going alone in august , would be first time alone , how is it ?
Don't you ever find it weird being alone ?
What about meals if your going to a character meals do the characters come to your table anyway ?
I'll try to get a girlfriend to come but if I can't find any it would be the very first time that I 'll travel alone , I ma a bit worried that alone would be boring as nobody to talk to ......
Give me some of your experiences PLEASEEEEEE don't want to miss going but a bit worried
Thanks

alone times are best.

unless you are shy....

most of the CM in the park will talk to you. So will most of the guests. I have only been ignored once. (I go alot....) and that couple lost I didn't....

if you want to talk - just start talking to strangers - don't worry - many people are friendlier at WDW than they would be at home.

you get to decide what you will do, when you will do and the time...

it is great!!!

I just love my alone time at WDW. :3dglasses

I went solo last year and had a great time. I met lots of people standing in lines, watching parades and at the hotel.
I really like the sit down restaurants so I went to a few by myself and I was fine with it. I even did a charecter meal by myself and the waiter was very nice and made sure I got a picture with every charecter as they came to my table. I did Donalds Breakfast at AK. My favorite meal by myself was Kona Cafe.
I also met a group of 20 year olds at Epcot one morning, we were both waiting for them to start serving Margharitas in Mexico and we ended up drinking around the world together.

I found it very relaxing by myself and got so much more done in 4 days than with my DH. I was able to work in more pool time, shopping and naps.

The biggest bonus was I didn't have to ride RNR or Mission Space. :rotfl:

I have been to Disney World every year since I have lived in florda about 6 times and everyone of them I have been by myself. I find the CM's joke and fool around with the single riders and in the parks. Once at MGM a cm sat on a bench with me and we talked about an hour. Then one time on TOT a cm let me have what used to be the seat belt seat. There are so many nice Cm's I plan on eating alone also. I will only have 3 days at the park so I want to do it up right.

I have been solo 3x. It is so nice to do what I want to when I want to do it. I have never done any of the charchter meals solo, but I have dined at a number of Table service spots solo. I just bring a small notebook with me and update my trip notes or plan what I'm going to do next. I have talked with people in lines, while waiting for shows, on the busses, and CMs are really friendly as well. One day last year I met a guy who worked down there and was just enjoying a day off at Epcot and we went on some of the FW attractions together it was really fun.

i have done solo character dinning - breakfast - Cape May Cafe - goofy's beach blast - went back twice solo.

now with family have eaten here maybe 10 times. It is definitely my favorite character meal regardless...

I agreed with Kona Cafe probably my favorite restuarant on WDW property.

have a ball!!!!

oh another place I enjoyed with family or by myself was over at FW - Trail's end.

I have only solo(ed) once and cannot wait to do it again. I am somewhat quiet but really enjoyed myself. I felt that if I wanted to talk to people, there they were. If not, I kept to myself. I stayed at WL and never felt threatened in any way. I was able to do everything I wanted to do, but most of all I was able to change my mind at the last minute without having to check with anyone, as I am a "people pleaser". I had a wonderful time and I sure you will too. Enjoy!!

I havent been solo before but plan on going solo in September.. I am sooooo looking forward to this.. I will be able to get up when I want, do what I want, ride what I want, ride what I dont want to and eat what and when I want.. I plan on taking tons of pictures.. usually I have to listen to my whiny kids about hurrying up and then I dont get a chance to take pictures of what I want.. I plan on bringing a walkman with some cds for when Im in line and noone to talk to.. I plan on mapping out what I want to do while in line.. While sitting down eating I plan to have a small notebook so I can write down what Ive done, etc.. I cant wait!! I dont know how much I will like it but I will be able to say Ive done it and it will help me decide if I will ever do it again..

I was glad to read this thread, as I am probably going alone the end of October and was pretty nervous. I LOVE to do things alone just as much as I love to do things with friends, but I have only ever done WDW alone for 2 days a couple of years ago when BF was sick and couldn't leave the hotel room. He made me go and have fun, which I did. The only thing I didn't like was eating alone - I am pretty shy, so I just felt weird, but made it through ok. I think once people that are going solo get there, the nerves calm a bit. I think I might get more ground covered being alone, anyway and just doing what I want at what pace I want. It will be an experience, you will have fun either way, though :teeth:

Hi thinking pf going alone in august , would be first time alone , how is it ? -- It's great!!! Please don't get me wrong. I love going with family, but I love going solo just as much!!!
Don't you ever find it weird being alone ? -- Nope. You get to do what you want, when you want. You get to dine where and when you want. You can do an attraction 10 times if you want (I did Test Track 4 times in a row!) or skip it all together. You can get to a park as early or as late as you want and leave whenever you want. It's such an amazing feeling of freedom!
What about meals if your going to a character meals do the characters come to your table anyway ? -- Ya gotta eat, right? I've done the Crystal Palace & the 1900 Park Fare solo and found the characters stopped at my table as often as all of the others. I love to read, so I always have a book with me in my backpack. This comes in handy while waiting for a parade or show to start, but also while dining. I think it helps take away any awkwardness of dining alone.
