Need information on how bars work at Disney

I am unfamiliar with the tipping and paying practices at bars in the United States. I am planning to go to Tambu Lounge at the Polynesian and I don't know the ordering/bill settlement procedure. Do I pay up front when we order, like at a fast food restaurant, or do I pay at the end the way a sit down restaurant works? Please and thank you for the answer!

Most bars will allow for either payment method. Meaning you can pay as you go or run a "tab" and pay at the end. I can speak from experience with bartenders ... If you are going to stay a while, it's best to run a tab and pay at the end. It keeps the bartenders from ringing up and checking you out each drink and backing up the bar and other guests.

Tipping of course is optional, though in the U.S. it is almost expected. Disney does not add gratuity to your bill (unless you are on Tables in Wonderland) so the social convention is to tip somewhere between 15% and 20% depending on the service.

1) Unless the bar drink is "one and done", we run a tab.
. . . easier to just pay once
. . . easier to just motion for a refill
. . . or after several drinks, wave one's arm wildly about
2) You do not even have to ask, as it is pretty much automatic.
. . . the current bill will be placed in front of you
. . . you can review the bill as you drink another, and another, etc
. . . or, in our case with the cost of some Single Malt Scotch, weigh the bill
3) In most cases, $1 per drink or 15% is an acceptable bartender tip.

I don't really do a percentage when at a bar, but a dollar amount. Whatever feels right to me.
