Need information on AKL

Okay, no snickering. We just upgraded to staying at AKL, and I realized that I know nothing about this resort. I mean, I know it's one of the places everyone loves to stay at. I know the theme of it. I know the basics. What I don't know is what kind of activities would everyone recommend? How is the food court for breakfast?? Is there something for the 12 year old to do on her own, without mom and dad hanging around.HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There are a lot of lifeguards at the pool, so your daughter could enjoy the pool without you there, if she is a swimmer. There are opportunities each night to view animals through night vision goggles, as well as a lot of animal presentations. It is just a really great hotel, and you all enjoy it, I'm sure!

Have a great time! The hotel is awesome. I would think your DD would love watching the animals for Arusha Rock all by herself, and talking to the CM's out there. The gift shop is wonderful, and the lobby and hallways have a lot to learn about and explore. The pool area is beautiful and a lot of fun especially in the early mornings. The comfort level about leaving a 12 year old on their own is different for everyone though. Even Disney gets its share of perverts I'm sure.
