We are looking at the following properties and would love some input from folks who have stayed at any of these. They are:

Wyndham Palms Resort and Country Club
Cypress Pointe Grand Villas
Hilton Grand Vacation Club at Seaworld
Parc Corniche
Summerfield Suites (on Suiteside Drive)

We would prefer a 2 bedroom with 2 baths and need a master bedroom large enough to accommodate a baby crib. We will probably be doing 2 days at Disney parks with a day in between to just relax around the resort or maybe go to Downtown Disney.

I've gathered some info on these from hotelkingdom.com and noticed that hotelkindgom says that CP Grand Villas has a TV in the second bedroom while the CP website says there are only tv's in the living room and master bedroom. Can anyone tell me which is right?

Would appreciate any info on these resorts - how roomy the units are, how comfy, resort activities, location, nearby shops and restaurants, how easy to get to and from the parks, etc. Also, I read a post that the Wyndham property only has a pro shop - not very Disney oriented. We would prefer a resort that is more theme park oriented (if that makes sense:D ).

Thanks in advance.:)

Hi Crusoe2,

We stayed at the HGVC in Nov/Dec last year (just after Thanksgiving) and loved it. There were 4 of us in a 2 bedroom villa and we LOVED all the space. The master bedroom had a king bed and I thought it was very roomy. You'd have no trouble fitting a crib in there. There was a large jacuzzi tub which was wonderful after long days at the parks. There were 3 T.V.s, one in the living area and one in each bedroom area. There were 2 bathrooms (which we really appreciated!) and the kitchen was good-sized and well equipped for our needs, and we did cook some meals there. The second bedroom is actually a lockout unit, with a double or queen sized bed, a sitting area, small table with 2 chairs, and an efficiency kitchen (which we didn't even use). We really liked having a washer/dryer in the unit also. Our unit was very clean and comfortable.

I wish I could tell you more about the rest of the property, but we spent the majority of our time at WDW! It was very easy to hop on I-4 and get right to the parks--about 15 min. or so. I did see info about activities available at the resort, but we never took advantage of them. We didn't make it to the large pool, but we did visit the small pool near our building (Warwick House) for a quick swim. I wouldn't say this resort was theme park oriented, but it was clean, comfortable, and spacious and we loved our stay there.

Hi...Parc Corniche is older smaller, probably not what you want, but is less expensive than the rest. It is on a golf course that is being rebuilt so its all dirt and no "green.
CP are very nice condos...lots of space and close to disney and restaurants
Windsor (not Wyndam)Palms is huge, new and a mile or so from restaurants and all the action on 192..lots of good reviews...
HGVC has a great rep...about 15 minutes to Disney, close to Sea World
Summerfield are true suites...new linens each day, more like a hotel...they have a great rep also
Tough choice...I think you would be happy with any but PC..Ted

Actually there is a Wyndham Palms and it is supposed to be really nice.

Summerfield Suites has a small bedroom

I have stayed at the Wyndham Palms condos twice and they are very nice.
The two bedroom condo was very nice and had 2 bathrooms.
The three bedroom/2 baths was also very nice, but the 3rd bedroom was small.
It had bunk beds and no ceiling fan and even thought there was A/C the room did get stuffy.
My Sisters and I found them very economical and the location is great.
It is right off of 192(Irlo Bronson Hwy), not far from Splendid China.

I hope that helps.

We stayed (one night) at the Parc Corniche at Thanksgiving, 2000. It was much shabbier than it looked in the pictures, and the 2nd BR didn't have a TV, as Hotelkingdom advertised. Still, the setting on the golf course was beautiful and our unit overlooked a pond with ducks, which my girls loved, so we stayed.

However, while sleeping that night, my husband heard a noise, but got up and couldn't find anything wrong. The next morning, after walking around barefoot for a while, I noticed a piece of glass on the kitchen floor. It turns out the light fixture in the 2nd bath, (which opened onto both the 2nd BR and the kitchen) had fallen during the night and shattered all over the bathroom floor and some glass slid out under the door into the kitchen. The girls slept right through it! I am so thankful that one of them didn't get up in the night and go into that bathroom! We would have had a medical emergency and probably a curtailed vacation.

We called hotelkingdom and they moved us to a 2BR 2 bath at a Holiday Inn close to Universal. It didn't have a full kitchen (no range/oven, just a microwave) and it was further from Disney, but was great for us. The price was the same. So, I would definitely use Hotelkingdom again.

By the way, the people at Parc Corniche were nice. They got someone up right away to clean up the mess, and maintenance in to fix the light. Still, I would have thought a manager would have been up quickly to make sure everything was OK and to apologize -- that didn't happen. Of course, they didn't give us any trouble about leaving after only one night after what happened.

This may have been a freak accident, but once was enough for me.

I am looking at the Cypress Pointe Grand Villas for a last minute trip next month. I hope that is a good choice!

Enjoy your vacation!
