So, we have a reservation for Nov this year at the GF..all booked, one week, paying cash. If we join DVC and get the developers points, can we apply those towards our existing reservations? Or would I need to shorten my existing reservation, and make a new one for 1/2 of the time w/the DVC points? If its the latter, would there be a guarentee of staying in the same room? Thanks for any info!

i think all you would have to do is call and shorten it.I dont see why that you would have to cancel and book it again.

If you do have to split the points/cash ressie, just know tha you have to check in and out again when you move into the points portion of the stay. They can even make you move rooms if they need to. It was a real pain for us.

It's very rare that would happen. We've been doing cash/points ressies for years and have never had to move rooms.

It kind of depends on what level you plan to stay on. Most of the month of Nov 08 falls in the Regular Season with a low of 47 points per night (Su/Th - Garden View) to a high of 146 points per night (Fr/Sa- Royal Palm Club).

If you are staying in RPC, you could get one weekend night with 160 Developer points or three weekday nights in a Garden view.

You'd have to talk to MS after you join or your Guide prior to joining to see what might be available.
