Would love to have some info about POFQ! Looking at a king room, anyone stayed in one? If so, what was your view? Is it close to grab a cup of coffee in the morning? We stayed at the CBR last year and had to hike up to the food court every morning!!! DF doesn't want to do this again. This will be our honeymoon. TIA!!!!

OH....I can answer this....my brother stayed in a king room about a year ago. He had a lovely corner room with a view of the river.

The resort itself is small so nothing is too far to walk away.

Happy Honeymoon.

Welcome to the DIS, Tinkerrn! (and you too, Meezers).

I'm not positive, but I believe I read that most of the king rooms face the river. The POFQ is a lot more compact than the CBR. Even the most remote room will only be about a five minute walk to the food court (where as the room I stayed at the first time I stayed at the CBR is about a 15 minute walk and we weren't even the furthest away).

Have a great time!

Check out www.allearsnet.com in the accomodations section. Also, the DIS has a great park map so that you can make a room request that is close to the rsort central. There are no 15 minutes hikes at PO-FQ. We also love the themeing and the landscaping.

Okay, I know I am in minority here but I do think there are less desirable room locations - not all of the rooms are a quick 5 minute walk. We were at the far end top floor (clear away from the elevator) on bulding 7. The quickest way for us to reach the food court or pool was to drive. We walked several times but it was quite a ways from our room to the main area. The main thing we didn't like about this room location was the dark walk back to our room in the evenings. If we stayed at this resort again we wouldn't make the mistake of not requesting a building. Building 7 and 1 are the furthest buildings so I would request 2,3,or 5.

Have a fantastic trip, POFQ has wonderful landscaping and we were even able to see MVMCP fireworks one evening from the railing outside our room.

We stayed in a king room in building 5. It was just across from the pool and the food court. HTH

We stayed in building 3 last year. It was very convenient to the bus stop and not a bad walk to the food court either. We've requested that building again for our June trip.

On the back side on the corner. Literally right next to the food court. It was great. The was a shortcut to the bustop and it was nice and quiet but close to everything (laundry, pool, food, bar). We were originally in building 7 with a water view but it was not a king room. We paid for a king room but somehow the reservation was messed up and they insisted we'd paid for a water view. We could care less about the view but a king room is mandatory because we be big. They found a king on our second day, it was handicap accessible which gives you a great shower! Make sure you double check your reservation.

Yes we too stayed in a king room building 5. It was great right across from food court and pool but on opposite side from pool on the river so it was quite and peaceful....I do believe all kings are river view just reequest building 5 with a king river view...that is what we did and that is what we got. (it is not gauranteed but they are usually accomadating)

We loved PoFQ it is such a beautiful quaint resort..loved the boat!

My husband and I stayed at Port Orleans French Quarter for our honeymoon last year. We had a first floor King bed near the pool. It was a great room and I loved the resort. Great grounds, relatively quiet, not too big. Plus it was a really nice walk over to Riverside.

We loved it so much we are going back for our anniversary this July. This time we're going to request a king bed river view room.

We stayed in Bldg 1 in 02 and in bldg 4 in Dec 04. The rooms are now redone and very nice. We loved Bldg #4. Close to bus stop short cut and food court. Only Courtyard or parking lot (with Courtyard) views from bldg #4. There's only 7 blgs total. No matter where you are, it's never more than a five minute walk. princess:
