We are arriving late in the evening and don't want to spend the money to stay on-site for that one night. We'd like to just check in, sleep and then check out in the morning and head to our resort.

I remember seeing a hotel across from Disney (off of the freeway -- can't remember which freeway, but it's the one you take to get to Universal Studios). The electronic sign in front of the hotel said $59 per night with free breakfast.

Can anyone recommend a cheap but safe stay for just one night? Breakfast would be great but not a necessity. Thanks!

Whichever hotel you pick check them out on tripadvisor dot com to see what people who have stayed there thought. I would look there first. What about Laquinta they have free breakfast and the ones I have stayed at have been very nice.:thumbsup2

Comfort Inn Lake Buena Vista offers free continental breakfast and is 3 miles from WDW (less than 1 mile from DTD) and their site(don't know your dates) range from $54-80/night with AAA rate

If you are willing to take a chance (I have quite a few times and never had a bad experience) you might want to try HOTWIRE.COM I did a check for one night in August and there are Hotels in the Disney main gate area(there's a map and you can choose the areas that you are interested in) starting at $32/night

good luck and enjoy your trip

Thanks, I'll check it out. I've used Hotwire/Priceline before. My only fear is getting one bed (they only guarantee accommodations for two). I know it's doubtful to get one bed in the Disney area since most hotels are made there for families.

I booked our first 2 nights at the Regal Sun Resort, in DTD area. The rooms looked great and are decently priced:goodvibes

Not true hotwire you can plug in how many people in your party. Only priceline will guarantee 2 people. I love hotwire. We just stayed at Caribe Royale which we booked through hotwire for $105 per night.
Are you renting a car? You'll have to get yourself to the hotel then to Disney.
