I was wondering what restaurants you would recommend for a 9 & 11 yo boy on thier first trip to disney? Any advice would help, and they are probably going to be on the dining plan if that helps any. Thanks

Whispering Canyon at the Wilderness lodge is fun. Especially if you do one of the following:
Wear a Hat or T-Shirt from Universal or Sea World
Tell your server you spent the day at an attraction outside of WDW
Tell the server whose birthday or anniversary it is
Have your kids "egg him/her on"
Have one of the males in the group ask where the restrooms are
Claim your straw is not long enough
Chew gum
Ask the server where you can buy some chewing gum in WDW
Ask for ketchup -- but be ready for a little exercise and team building!
Order a soda for breakfast.

As a kid I also loved the Hoop-de-doo revue

For a real good economical meal visit the Earl of Sandwich at DD

Hi, Earl of Sandwich is a great choice. My kids loved it. I hope to do revue&WC this trip. My choice for fun for the boys might also be 50's Primetime in Hollywood. My first year i cancelled reservations but went this summer, what a blast. I had a picky eater with me and she loved it. I know there are a few more favs, just gotta think of em lol.

Sci-Fi Drive In - you sit in a car and watch movie clips while you eat.

Beaches & Cream if you are up to the Kitchen Sink Challenge

Sci-Fi has a neat atmosphere, but food is notoriously bad. Grab the kid's a Turkey leg either at Studios near Tower of Terror, MK in Frontierland, or AK near Dinosaur. They'll get a kick out of gnawing on the huge legs.

another vote for Sci-Fi:thumbsup2 I think the burgers and shakes are very good and you can't beat the atmosphere.

I have never had any real complaints about my meals at Sci Fi - it's not the best but I haven't had any horrible food there. You couldn't pay me to eat a turkey leg but I wouldn't tell someone not to give it a try.

How about the T Rex restaurant in DTD. I don't think it's on the dining plan though.

I would check out the menus on allears.net with your kids and see what you all agree on. I would also consider upgrading your 9 year old to an adult if he really likes to eat, the kids menus are pretty limited. We always like to do a couple of buffets so everyone can choose what they like and our favourites include Tusker House(breakfast), Crystal Palace (breakfast), 1900 Park fare (breakfast and dinner). My kids also enjoy Yak&Yeti, Le Cellier, Teppan Edo and Tutto Italia. Coral Reef isn't bad and the atmosphere is pretty cool. This trip we are trying Cape May for dinner and Whispering Canyon for dinner as our new choices, the rest are repeats. Hope that helps!

I almost forgot about 'Ohana and Wolfgang Puck Express! Also yummy.

My boys, around the same ages, loved Donald's Safari Breakfast at the Tusker House, Whispering Canyon Cafe, and Les Chefs de France. Chefs has a great kids menu - the portions were the largest kid portions we came across at the World. They loved Remy, too. They also liked the clam bake at Cape May in the Beach Club. It was a good buffet with lots of choices.

Have fun!!

Si-Fi Dine-In, Whispering Cnayon Cafe, and a character buffet at Tusker House or Cape May Cafe :)

My 10 year old nephew say....

Sci Fi
Crystal Palace
Tusker House for breakfast
T-Rex
Teppan Edo
Liberty Tree Tavern
Hoop De Doo Revue

He says stay far far away from...
Cinderella's Royal Table
Akershus
