We are planning a trip in Sept & have taken a box from a case of diapers that we have made into our WDW box. I have printed out pics of Disney characters for dd4 to color & glue on the outside of the box. Now I need to fill it with stuff to take on the trip. I want to get everything ahead of time so I don't spend an arm & a leg in the parks!

Here is what I have so far:
glow sticks
rain ponchos
lanyards & pins

I know for sure we need to get an autograph book/pen and those Brita filtered bottles with straps. What else would be fun to fill the box? This will keep the excitement building up until we leave for the trip!! Give me your best ideas (and where to buy them).

Thanks!

Snacks!!! Eating keeps the little ones busy. You can also go to Dollar Tree. These boards have lots of people picking up all kinds of cute, Disney stuff for $1.00. You may look at other dollar stores too. Before we left last trip, we went to Target and got Disney CD's. We played them to get in the mood. If you aren't driving, you can play them in a personal CD player. My daughter was familiar with all the songs when we got there.

A pair of sunglasses for everyone in the family, plus a bottle of sunscreen. Maybe disposable cameras? Not sure how old your children are.

Small container of wipes
lip balm (with sunscreen)
ball caps or sunhats for all
'spare change' to convert into Disney Dollars before you go.
Print up menus from allears.net and toss them in, then you can go over them to plan where to eat.
small spill-proof bottles of bubbles to keep occupied while waiting.

Hmmmm, I am going on memory, but feeling compelled to go pull my DIsney Box down from the attic to tell you what we have in there.

We had a WDW box too!

definitely a wide brimmed hat for your DD for the sun. My DS loved the fact it kept his neck and tips of his ears covered. His ball cap only kept the sun out of his eyes. The wide brimmed hats are just right especially for younger ones.

For the box:

I bought my kids small water bottles with straps at CVS (1.99 ea)

Also, those books that when you color over the picture with the magic pen, the color appears? Got Mickey & Minnie ones from our local Brook's pharmacy and Creative Toy Outlet (2.99)

lap table with the 'bean bag' bottom for eating, drawing, playing

box of those wet wipes (individual packets)

I packed alot of the stuff other posters already gave you too.

Filling the box is so much fun, isn't it? Have a great vacation:D

The disposable camera is a great idea. I don't care how old your kids is (mine will be 4), they always want to use the camera!
The coins are good too. I have found a Minnie change purse at the dollar store & we can put our pennies & quarters for the penny press in there!!
Thanks for the great ideas...keep 'em coming!

OCD- Obsessive Compulsive DISNEY, I love it and live it!
Well , I brought a boatload of stuff with me last year and will bring a boatload this year. DD4 and DD2 love stuff. SO here is what I brought, (we had a diaper bag to cart it in)

Crayons for the restaurants and airplane
Disney Pez from the Dollar Store
Pooh body wash and shampoo
Disposable sippy cups for the stroller (made great bowls)
Invitations to special character breakfasts
Mickey Mouse Chapstick that hooked to pant loops
Bendable straws
Disney fanny pack
The misting fan( 5.00 at Target, 17.50 in WDW)

Can't think of any more, brain freeze. If I think of any more, I'll let you know.

Along with all the great stuff mentioned I also have in my Disney box:

Wet Wipes-the individual packs
Ziploc bags of assorted sizes - these always come in handy
Mini sewing kit
Plastic clothes pins - these work for keeping snacks closed to keeping a stubborn curtain closed.
Mini first aid kit - I made mine from a small lunchbox type tin and added all the materials I would need.
Moleskin - in the first aid kit
Small bottles of cold medicine - usually get free samples from the doctor before vacation. It's good to have on hand if someone gets sick.
Special disney toys that make repeat trips- spinning light up toys in particular

I also have a special box where I put disney themed treats for the kids that I buy on sale throughout the year. A couple of days before our trip I open it up and make gift bags from all my treasures.

lip balm
swim shoes
disposable cameras
sun glasses
sun screen
disney stickers
disney dollars
quarters and pennies for the presses

how about stories on tape? I don't know how old your kids are but are they old enough to suggest some things? How about something familiar like a favorite toy or stuffed animal? Staying away from home, something familiar will be comforting and may even help with settling in at night. That worked with my kids when i would take them camping by myself.

cant wait to go 4/3/04

Can I just say that I thought I was the only person in the world to do a Disney box. Boy was I wrong! (Duh, I should have known you dis-er's would have "been there, done that"!!)
The ideas are great. DD will be 4 & other DD will be 11 months. Where can I get the Disney chapstick? I really want to keep with the Disney theme!! I'll look at the $$ store for the Disney pez's!

I found the Mickey Chapstick at Rite-Aid, I think. It was definitely a chain drug store! They also had Dora, Clifford, Dragon Tales and others. Good luck and if you come up with any ideas, please let me know!

Last year I bought a small battery operated fan. It was like a key chain. It was much easier then using the big bulky fans. My kids loved them. I think I bought them in Kmart. Have a great trip!!!

Last trip(NOV.2003) I bought DD Disney Princess disposable cameras. I got them at TARGET. They were pink with the castle in the backround with Cindy and other princesses on it. She loved it!!

My Dollar Tree has Disney themed stickers and sticker books, coloring books too. You'd be amazed by the stuff you could find that is Disney related!
How about the Disney Princess gummies, they have them at the super market, I think at Target too.
You have gotten some great advice already if I think of something else I'll post. Now I want to go look in my Disney box to see what I have!!!

I was at WalMart today and they had Disney character Pex dispensers for under $1: Mickey, Minnie, Daisy, Donold, Pluto, Goofy. Also, the clearance section had small compact Princess mirrors...4 in a package for $1 I think!

For the 11 month old you have to get those self stick placemats even though they don't come in a Disney version. On our Jan trip my baby DD was 11 1/2 months and I don't know how we would have fed her without those. I've included a link. My DS (turned 3 on the trip) and DD (4 1/2) both LOVED sticker books on the plane.

Placemats

Shout wipes. They saved our clothes several times. (THose mickey ice cream bars can be messy!) And then you don't have a stain on your shirt in the pictures for the rest of the day!!.....P
